오늘 Toby님께서 번개 모임을 추진하셨는데, 운 좋게 참여하게 되었습니다. 여초사이트이길 기대하며 모임 장소인 종각역에 갔는데 남자들만 있는 모임이 있길래 저긴 아닐꺼야, 아니여야만 해 하면서 갔습니다. 희망은 산산히 부서졌습니다. 모임은 정말 재밌었어요. 아무도 싫어할리 없는 치킨님을 뜯으면서 이야기를 했습니다. 정말 수많은 주제로 건설적인 토론과 속에 담아두었던 이야기를 했습니다. 맥주와 (요즘 소주계의 허니버터칩이라는) 순하리를 마셔서 모든 것들이 기억에 남지는 않지만 제가 궁금했었던 사항들에 대해 유저분들과 Toby님의 의견을 기억 남는대로 나눠볼게요. 혹려나 제 기억이 잘못되었다면 언제든 지적해주세요. 아.... 순하리 맛있다. 1. 왜 도메인 이름이 redtea인가? 왜 이 사이트 이름이 홍차넷인데 redtea.kr이라는 질문에 나왔어요. 도메인 만드신 분들은 이해하실 수도 있는데 사실 할만한 도메인은 다 되어있습니다. Toby님도 이런저런것 보던 와중에 하스스톤에서 홍차라는 이름으로 유명하신 분의 아이디가 redtea길래 이거다 싶어서 도메인으로 등록하셨다고 합니다 (본격 다도 사이트 redtea.kr?) 2. Reatea.kr은 어떤 사이트인가? Toby님이 앞선 글에서도 말씀하셨든, 본인이 생각하는 커뮤니티를 만들고 싶다는 마음으로 이걸 만드셨다고 합니다. 다만 이 사이트의 정체성에 대해서는 확실히 정해진 것은 없죠. 저를 포함해서 이번 번개에 참여한 사람들은 결국 컨텐츠의 문제가 아니겠느냐는 의견을 제시했습니다. 제 개인적인 의견을 말하면 컨텐츠가 좋은 사이트는 살아남게 되어있거든요. 초기 pgr21이 이렇게 커지게 된 것도 양질의 글을 쓰는 사람이 있고 이를 충분히 음미하고 평가할 수 있는 유저들이 있었기에 가능했다고 봅니다. 지금 pgr에 대해 아쉬워 하는 것도 여러 이유로 좋은 글을 쓰는 사람들이 떠나서 좋은 글들을 보기 힘들다는 것에 대한 아쉬움이 크다고 봐요. 저도 그렇고요. 이 사이트가 어떤 방향으로 가야하는 지에 대해선 Toby님의 입장을 지켜보고 응원해줄 필요가 있다는 생각이 들었습니다. 3. 현 pgr21과의 관계는? 제일 어려운 질문이면서 해결해야 하는 질문이기도 합니다. Toby님은 조금 더 개선된 형태이면서 pgr의 장점을 잘 갖춘 사이트로 키우고 싶다는 느낌을 많이 받았어요. 자칫하면 앤하와 앤하위키 미러와 같은 본진-미러 관계가 되지 않을까, 사실상 현재 그렇지 않느냐는 생각을 하시는 것 같은데, 저는 이 사이트가 잘 발전해서 pgr의 장점 중 취할 건 취하고 버릴 건 버리는 사이트가 되길 희망합니다. 제 개인적인 의견으론 pgr의 큰 문제는 운영진의 열정을 꺾는 표면적인 평등화라고 봅니다. 어떤 일을 추진할 때 모든 운영진들의 허락을 받아야만 나아갈 수 있는 것이죠. 이번 모임에서 나왔던 의견이 이 사이트는 Toby님이 강력한 권한을 가지고 운영을 해나갔으면 좋겠다는 것이었습니다. 저도 여기에 적극 동의하고요. 다른 분들은 이 사이트가 어떻게 운영되기를 바라는지 궁금합니다. 특히 사이트가 커져서 혼자 운영하는 것이 사실상 불가능할 때 말이죠. 4. 다수를 위한 사이트냐 소수를 위한 사이트냐? 과거 pgr21은 progamer ranking 21에 맞게 게임 중심의, 게임 얘기를 위한 소수의 매니악한 사이트였습니다. 다만 좋은 글들이 늘어나고, 차츰차츰 입소문을 타고, 유머와 자유게시판을 신설하는 등 외연을 넓혀 현재의 모습을 갖추게 되었죠. 하지만 저를 포함한 (아마 소수의) 사람들은 과거와 같이 그다지 많지 않은 사람들이 들락거리는 사랑방같은 분위기를 원하기도 합니다. 그래야만 사이트 운영이 편해지고 정체성을 유지하는 데도 편할 수 있기 떄문이죠. 이 부분을 Toby님께 물어봤습니다. Toby님은 본인이 과거에 한 번 실패했던 커뮤니티의 경험을 들며 이 사이트가 최대한 커지길 바라셨습니다. 저도 이 사이트가 커지고 양질의 글이 많이 올라오고 피드백도 활발한 사이트가 되길 바랍니다. 다만 걱정인것은 다양한 많은 사람들이 들어올 때 이를 Toby님을 포함한 감당할 수 있느냐의 문제겠지요. 사이트 운영에 관해선 운영건의 게시판을 비롯한 다양한 창구에서 많은 의견들이 제시 되길 바라는 마음입니다. 핸드폰 배터리가 다 되서 여기서 글을 마무리 해야할 것 같아요. 정말 오늘 번개 재밌었습니다. 다음에 또 기회가 된다면 꼭 참여해서 다양한 다른 분들의 의견도 들여보고 제 의견도 얘기하는 자리가 있었으면 합니다. 좋은 밤 보내시고 댓글은 내일 달도록 할게요!
