오늘 가족과 엑시트를 보러 갔습니다. 사실 전에 엑시트가 숨쉴 틈도 없이 긴장감을 유지하는 영화라는 이야기를 들었어서 개인적으로 보기 전 걱정을 조금 하고 있었는데, 제 기준으론 유머가 잔뜩 들어간 쉬는 시간이 엄청나게 많은 영화더군요. 오히려 영화가 끝내야 할 타이밍은 있는데, 억지로 영화를 늘이면서 긴장감 유지를 못했다는 인상은 받았습니다. 어디 드론 회사에서 협찬이라도 받았는지, 쓸모없는 드론 나오는 씬을 끝도 없이 집어넣더라구요. 제게 이 영화가 잘 만든 '영화'냐고 물어본다면 못 만든 '영화'라고 평가하고 싶습니다. 대신 이 영화는 잘 만든 '개그'영화냐고 물어본다면, 그 부분에서는 찬성입니다. 전체적인 점수는 10점 만점에 5점 정도 줄 것 같지만, 우리는 분식집의 떡볶이를 좋아하는 것과 비슷하려나요 저 같은 경우는 영화를 볼 때 여러 가지 기준 중에서 1. 영화 내의 상황에서 실제 인물이 어떻게 행동할 것인가, 2. 영화의 화면 구성 혹은 컷분할은 어떻게 되었는가를 중요시하는 편입니다. 전자의 기준으로 봤을 때 엑시트는 좀 이해하기 힘든 장면들이 있습니다. 예를 들어, 소방헬기가 주인공 가족을 구출하는데 성공하고 나서, 둘을 구출하는 데 먼저 도착하지 않고 다른 곳을 먼저 갈 것인가? 전 이 부분은 굉장히 회의스러웠거든요. 이 부분은 드론이 등장하는 부분에 들어가서 더 부자연스러워요. 그 사람들을 구하는데 돕고싶은 마음이 가득한 사람들이 그 많은 드론을 보냈는데, 드론에 구호물자 하나 붙여서 보낼 생각한 사람은 왜 없는거죠? 드론으로 자신이 생중계되고 있다는 사실을 알면 주인공들이 생존할 가능성이 가장 높은 행동은 그 자리에 있는 것이 아닌가? 망나니처럼 뛰어다니는 것이 아니라 아, 별개로 이 영화에서 아쉬운 부분 중 하나는 조정석 몸이 너무 별로예요. 영화 시작부분에 나오는 철봉씬에서 조정석이 가지고 있는 육체적 능력을 부각시켜서 영화 내 액션 신에 대한 신뢰를 확보하려는 노력은 좋았는데... 그럴거면 조정석이 몸을 더 만들어서 영화를 찍었어야 하지 않나 싶습니다. 동아리 활동 중에 조정석과 비교했을 때 윤아가 실력이 더 좋았던 것으로 묘사가 되는데, 윤아가 영화에서 그런 능력을 보여주는 장면이 안 보이는 것도 굉장히 아쉬웠습니다. 아마 그건 윤아를 가지고 제대로 된 액션씬을 뽑을 자신이 없었기 때문이 아니었을까라는 개인적인 의심이 들더라구요. 윤아가 할 수 있는 수준의 액션씬인 달리기에선 윤아가 주구장창 나온 것 때문에 더 그랬구요. 그럴거면 조정석이 윤아한테 동아리에서 지는 장면을 넣는게 아니라, 비록 사회에선 취업도 제대로 못 하고 조카에게 무시당하지만 동아리내에서는 최고의 실력을 가지고 있었던 사람으로 스토리를 짜는게 훨씬 영화가 설득력 있었을 거라고 생각합니다. 영화 내에서 조정석이 뭔가를 해내고 났을 때 조정석한테 아무도 칭찬해주지 않는 부분에서도 굉장히 기분이 이상했어요. 왜 조정석은 목숨을 걸어서 가족을 구해냈는데, 가족 중에서 고생했다, 고맙다라는 말을 해주는 사람이 한 명도 없는거죠? 다시는 그런 짓 할 생각하지 마라, 내가 얼마나 걱정했는줄 아냐 그런 대사 당연히 들어가는게 맞는데, 평소에 자신이 제대로 된 아들 역할을 못하고 있다는 죄책감을 가지고 있던 조정석이 마침내 가족에게 성과를 보여준, 그리고 칭찬을 듣고 싶은 뿌듯한 기분이 드는 상태에서 받는 건 타박 밖에 없는데 이걸 듣고 그냥 단순히 감동받는 연기를 하는 것도 되게 이상해요. 제가 그 장면의 조정석이었으면 되게 화가 났을거예요. 나는 온 몸 던져가면서, 생명줄도 포기하고 옥상에 올라가 문을 땄는데 왜 나한테 고마워하고, 믿어주는 사람이 없는거죠? 영화 초반부의 화학 테러씬은 개그의 극치입니다. 아니, 화학자라는 사람이 방독면은 썼는데 장갑은 안 끼고 화학물질을 살포하는건 뭐하는거예요? 그러고 살포하자마자 방독면은 벗는 것은 뭐하는 건지 모르겠더라구요. 죽음을 각오한거면 애초에 방독면을 안 쓰고 돌리는 장면이 나았을 거라고 생각해요. 개인적으로 그 트럭씬이 이 영화에서는 가장 멋있는 장면이었어서 잠깐 기대했는데 말이죠 이런 디테일한 부분들이 이 영화는 진짜 많이 아쉬웠어요. 두 번째 요소인 화면 구성도 아쉬운 부분이 많았어요. 빈 화면에 조정석하고 윤아 얼굴 한 가운데 놓고 전환시켜가면서 보여주는 장면이라든지, 되게 많았는데 이 부분은 구체적으로 말로 설명하기가 좀 힘드네요. 영화 보면서 하나 하나 짚으면 훨씬 쉬운데 말이죠. 대신 이 영화를 보고 집에 와서 화면 구성이 좋았던 영화는 뭐가 있었을까, 라는 생각을 하다가 작년에 개봉했던 스파이더맨: 뉴 유니버스를 봤어요. 사실 화면 구성 부분에 있어선 영화보다 애니메이션 쪽이 한 수 위라는 생각을 하는데, 특히 저 작품은 그런 부분이 아주 환상적이었죠. 개인적으로 한국 영화는 저런 감독의 무능력이 프레임으로 그대로 드러날 때가 종종 있다고 느끼는 것 같아요. 화면 자체를 어떻게 구성해야할지에 대한 고민을 하지 않은 부분이 그대로 보이는 장면들이 보이면 영화에 대한 흥미가 팍 식거든요. 영화는 말, 영상 두 가지를 써서 표현하는 작품인데 영상을 구성하기가 어려운 장면이 나오면 이질감 있는 말로 줄줄이 설명하는 장면을 구성하는 것도 그렇구요. 사실 이런 부분은 우리나라 드라마에서 되게 자주 보이는데, 엑시트는 그런 부분이 심하지는 않았던 것 같아요. 여태 엑시트에 대해 험담을 계속 늘어놨다면 장점도 언급해야겠죠. 이 영화는 그냥 웃겨요. 혹시 액션씬이 가져다 주는 스릴, 이런 부분을 기대하신다면 영화를 보고 좋은 평가를 하시긴 힘들거라는 생각이 들어요. 하지만 스트레스 받는데 한껏 웃고 오고 싶다 생각하시면 극한 직업의 퀄리티 낮은 버전이라고 생각하셔도 괜찮을 것 같아요. 윤아가 연기력이 부족한 부분을 개그로 땜빵하는 부분은 솔직히 한 두번까진 참겠는데, 영화 내내 집어넣으니 솔직히 좀 질리긴 하더군요. 저렇게 얼굴로 웃기는 연기를 쓸거면 굳이 윤아같이 예쁜데 연기를 못하는 사람을 써야했나 하는 생각도 좀 들긴 했습니다. 으음... 분명 장점 얘기하려했는데 계속 단점을 늘어놓게 되네요. 어쨌든 굉장히 웃긴 작품이란거! 하나는 말씀드릴 수 있을 것 같네요. 제가 워낙 글을 못써서 여기서 얼버무리면서 마무리짓도록하겠습니다. 아, 마지막으로 이 영화 음악도 전반적으로 별로였는데 딱 한번 마지막에 이승환씨 슈퍼히어로를 넣은 거는 진짜 최고의 선택이었다고 생각해요.
