예전에 <미스컨덕트>라는 영화 리뷰를 쓴 적이 있습니다... https://pgr21.com/?b=8&n=65067 지금보니 매우 비슷한 기분이군요. 그 때는 제목을 "알파치노+앤서니홉킨스+이병헌->디워이래최악.."이라고 적었는데 이번에는 "조승우+백윤식+문채원->(극장에서본) 디워이래최악.."이라고 댓글을 적었었습니다. 크크크크 디워가 제게 준 인상은 참으로 강력한 것이어서 아직 어떤 영화도 범접하지 못하고 있습니다. 명당은 미스컨덕트 급은 아닙니다. 미스컨덕트가 더 쓰레기 영화이긴 해요. 그러나 미스컨덕트는 '집에서 vod로 봐도' 분기탱천할 영화였고 명당은 그정도는 아니지만 '추석에 극장에서 보면' 같은 급으로 분기탱천할만한 영화입니다. 제게는요. 두 영화의 공통점은 '훌륭한 배우들'+ '심각한 개연성의 부재'에 있습니다. 제목에 스포라고 달아놨지만 이제부터는 더 대놓고 스포를 할 것입니다..혹시라도 영화를 볼 생각이 있으신 분들은 뒤로 가기를 눌러주세요. x를 눌러 조의를 표합니다. 리뷰라기보다는 감상문입니다. 아주 주관적인. 그리고 악평입니다. 1. 이 영화의 좋은 점들 까기 전에 추진력을 얻기 위하여 이 영화의 좋은 부분들을 먼저 얘기하겠습니다. 첫째, 연기들이 훌륭합니다. 대사가 좀 병x같은 것들이 있지만, 아니 많지만... 그것은 배우들의 잘못이 아닙니다.... 배우들은 다들 훌륭한 연기를 보여줍니다. 가벼운 캐릭터를 잡은 유재명이 좀 튀는 느낌이 들긴 합니다만 그게 유재명이 연기를 못해서인지 창크나이트와 부원장님의 이미지에 아직 사로잡힌 내가 적응을 못하는 것인지 스스로 가려낼 자신이 없습니다. 사실 조승우도 초반에는 구사장님이 컨설턴트업도 하셨구만 하는 생각이 듭니다. 이걸 자신의 과거배역을 지우지 못한 배우가 연기를 충분히 해내지 못했다고 할 것인지 내가 배우에게 가지고 있는 이미지를 작품에 따라 구분하지 못한 건지 자문해봐도 잘 모르겠습니다. 백윤식은 내부자들 이후 이런 비열한 권력자 연기에 탁월한 역량을 보여주고 조승우는 언제나 그렇듯 훌륭한 연기를 보여줍니다. 문채원은 공주의 남자에서 별로 달라지지 않았습니다...만 애초에 문채원이 맡은 캐릭터와 각본이 엉성해서 그렇지 연기 자체는 좋았습니다. 지성 연기도 나쁘지 않았어요. 김성균 정만기 연기도 다 좋았습니다. 으하하하 낄낄낄낄 미친바보같은 웃음 연기가 너무 자주 나와서 짜증났지만 그건 배우들의 잘못이 아닙니다...... 둘째, '명당'과 지관에 대한 초반 묘사가 흥미롭습니다. 이게 이 영화에서 가장 훌륭한 부분이고 관객들에게 영화 나쁘지 않았는데? 괜찮았는데? 라는 생각을 하게 할 수도 있는 부분일 겁니다. 관상-궁합-명당 3부작(?)에서 영화는 관객들에게 각각 관상과 궁합과 명당이라는 소재가 힘을 가지고 있다는 설득을 해야 합니다. 그런데 관상은 지금 우리도 사람 얼굴 보고 하참 착해보이네 못됬겠네 똑똑하겠네 멍청하겠네 같은 평을 하고 궁합은 사주팔자, 혈액형, 성명학처럼 아이스브레이커와 화제거리 재미거리로 친숙하죠. 그러나 명당은 이미 화장시대-_-에 살고 있는 우리에게 느금마빠 무덤이 어디있어서 어떻다고? 라고 확 와닿지가 않습니다. 그래서 우선 명당-풍수지리의 힘에 대해 관객을 끌어들이는 작업이 더 필요하죠. 명당은 이 점에 있어선 성공했습니다! 우왕! 영화는 유능한 지관인 조승우의 풍수지리를 '입지선정'이라는 면에서 그 '용함'을 우리에게 어필합니다. 문필봉의 기운을 받아 학문이 뛰어난 자제가 나올 것이라는 집을 사들인 후 이를 소문내서 치맛바람 펄럭이는 교육열 높은 어머님들이 아주 비싼값으로 서로 집을 사겠다 달려들지요. 강남8학군! 우리한테도 아주 친숙한 일입니다! 양반들이 옆에 신흥 시장판을 열어서 망하게된 저잣거리가 있습니다. 조승우는 쇼핑 동선을 짜고 길을 넓히고 위생을 정비하고 가게와 가게 사이의 시너지를 고려하여 시장바닥을 정비합니다. 대형쇼핑몰 입점으로 전통시장 망함! 전통시장 현대화! 역시 우리에게 아주 친숙한 일이면서, 풍수지리와 명당이라는 것의 힘에 대해 관객들이 동의할 수 있는 배경을 잡아줍니다. 물론..이것들과 뒤에 이어지는 명당의 절대적인 힘은 매우 다른 것으로 앞에 것에 동의했다고 뒤에것에 동의하는 것은 유비추리의 오류이지만 이야기에 몰입하려면 그런게 필요한 법이죠. 여기까지 영화는 재미있고 참신한 구석까지 있습니다. 2. 이 영화의 나쁜 점들 자..이제 충분히 추진력을 얻었으니 하고 싶은 이야기로 넘어가겠습니다. 이 영화의 배우들은 훌륭합니다. 아주 고오급 식재료들이죠. 세계3대진미 캐비어, 트뤼플, 푸아그라에 인터넷 절대진미 치킨도 있습니다. 이것들로 뭘하죠? 잡탕찌개를 끓입니다. 다 넣고 끓입니다. 그런데 그거 아세요? 다금바리로 라면을 끓이면 욕을 먹지만 사실 그 라면은 맛있습니다. 저도 먹어보진 않았지만 캐비어 트뤼플 푸아그라 치킨 넣고 끓인 잡탕찌개도 맛있을 지도 몰라요. 자 하지만 이제 거기다 또하나의 고오급 먹을 거리인 고디바 초콜렛을 부을겁니다. 좋아요. 이제 이 영화를 본 제 심정이 여러분에게 전달되었습니다. 아무리 재료가 좋은들 레시피 자체가 엉망이면 답이 없습니다. 첫째, 처참한 고증. 사실 저는 영화가 끝날때까지 이 영화는 조선 비스무레한 시대상황을 딴 판타지 사극이라고 생각했습니다. 그래서 사실 화를 덜 내면서 볼 수 있었는데요.... 말하자면 퓨전사극 중에서도 실제 역사의 특정시기를 배경으로 하는게 아니라 그냥 그 분위기를 딴 순수창작이라고 생각했다는 거죠. '해를 품은 달'이나 '구르미 그린 달빛'처럼요. 제가 그렇게 생각한 이유는.. 역시 가장 큰 이유는 처참한 고증때문이고요. 다른 이유는 제가 약간 무식해서.. 이 영화의 악역인 좌상대감은 '장동 김씨'라고 나오는데 저는 세도가문으로 '안동 김씨'는 알아도 '장동 김씨'는 몰랐습니다. 그래서 픽션으로 만든 가문이라고 생각했어요. 안동 김씨를 가지고 만든..그런데 알고보니 장동김씨는 세도가문인 안동김씨 중 조선 후기에 세도를 부린 특정 가문을 더 좁혀 부르는 말이었습니다. 마지막 이유는 지성이 흥선대원군으로 나오는데..저는 영화끝날즘 자막이 나오기 전까지 '흥성군'인 줄 알았어요-_- '상갓집 개'라는 유명 타이틀도 같이 걸고 나옵니다만 흥선군은 대원군이 되기 전까지 나이도 워낙 많고... 궁에 그렇게 자주 출입하지도 않았을 거고... 아무튼 진짜 대원군과는 여러가지 차이가 너무 많기 때문에(그거야 영화니까 ok) 흥선대원군에서 모티브를 얻은 창작캐릭터 흥성군이라고 생각한거죠. 나중에 이하응이라고 이름도 부르는 장면이 살짝 나오는데 아니 굳이 이름까지 비슷하게 했어..정도로 생각하고 넘어갔습죠 크크크크 그런데 시대가 대원군 시대면 그 앞의 생활상이나 군졸들의 무장상태가 그러면 안되여..왜 총 없는거야 임진왜란 병자호란 다 지난 다음이잖아..응? 그리고 가장 거슬리는게 아무리 세도가문이고 절대적 권력을 가진 자라 한들 왕족인 흥선군에게 기어서 전을 주워먹으라 할 수는 있어도 "그래서 저놈은 보는 재미가 있어서 죽이지 않고 살려둔거 아니요 하하하하" 같은 대사는 치면 안되죠. 아니..조선시대라고.. 지들끼리만 있을 때 치는 대사면 몰라도 흥선군 앞에서 그래서 저놈은 안 죽였다니.. 다른 왕족(왕)은 죽였다는 대사를 공개적으로 치면 어떻게 합니까. 심지어 나중에는 아예 왕한테 대놓고 반말하는데..그런 '충격적'인 장면은 왕과 백윤식을 1:1로 놓고 하거나 적어도 백윤식 꼬봉들 앞에서만 하면 모를까 그냥 병졸들 앞에서 왕에게 반말을 하면서 죽이니 살리니 하는데 너무 몰입이 깨져요. 조선이란 사회가 그런 사회가 아닌데 말이죠. 왕을 위협해도 됩니다. 존댓말로요. 그래야 더 멋있죠. 반말도 해도 되요. 살짝 귓가에 한두마디라면. 그게 더 임팩트가 크겠죠. 멋있는 장면이 될 수도 있고. 뿌리깊은 나무의 '지랄하고 자빠졌네'처럼요. 정도전의 이인임 대감은 왕을 죽일지언정 왕에게 반말을 하진 않습니다. 그래서 더 멋있는 악역이 되죠. 게다가 지관인 조승우가 왕족인 흥선군에게 막 반말함. 자네자네 그러면서..아니 신분사회 고려 좀... 흥선군이 자기 자식한테 아예 곤룡포를 입혀놓고 왕놀이 하는 장면도 어처구니 없고..흥선군의 야심을 조승우가 눈치채는 장면을 만들게 고작 그거였습니까. 아니 하다못해 곤룡포만 안 입고 있었어도 더 좋은 장면이 되었을 거에요. 옷은 평범하게 입었어도 아들을 왕처럼 대하고 가르치는 데서 야심을 눈치채면 되죠. 관객들이 다 빠가인줄 아나 그거 눈치 못챌까봐 곤룡포를 입혀둠?? 그리고 영화 마지막에 대원군이 아들을 왕으로 세우는 장면에서 2차 빡침..아니 이거 뭐에요 갑자기 영화가 대군사사마의가 되었어요..? 왕 옷은 아까 입었던 곤룡포는 어디가고 마지막 황제 코스프레 옷 같은 영화로 멀리서 봐도 싸구려 티가 팍팍 나는 질감의 시꺼먼 시대와 국적을 알 수 없는 복색. 옷에다가 도끼 두개 수놓은 부분은 진짜 어느 부대앞에서 오바로크친건지 다시는 거기를 이용하지 말아야겠다 싶은 성의없는 오바로크를 친 옷을 왕의 옷이랍시고(마지막황제 뚜이..?) 입혀놓고 신하들 복색도 사마의 위나라 관복삘로..뭐야 갑자기 왜이래 이 한장면 때문에?? 그래 판타지 사극이니까..여긴 조선이 아니니까 라고 참으려고 하는데 자막으로 나오는 '흥선대원군' 야씨.. 흥성군이 아니었어? 여기 조선이었던 것이야? 게다가 에필로그처럼 신흥무관학교 자리까지 조승우가 정해줬어... 간도에 자리칠 때부터 신흥무관학교..? xx...야 실제 역사랑 비슷한 척 하지마라!!!! 아 왜 슬픈 예상은 틀리지가 않나요.... 둘 째, 심각한 개연성없음으로 인한 캐릭터 붕괴. 개연성 없는 부분 많고 많은데요.. 제일 심각한 장면 몇개만 들죠. 문제는 이게 클라이맥스 쯤이라는건데. 흥선군 일파는 좌상 집안의 기를 꺾기 위해 좌상집안의 천하명당 묏자리를 알려주는 지관을 납치합니다. 좌상 아들은 그 지관의 '왕이 나오는 명당에는 이미 파묘해서 부정을 탄 시신은 묻어도 소용이 없다. 즉 네 할아버지는 그 명당에 묻어도 왕이 안나온다. 네 아빠를 묻으면 너 왕된다. 아빠를 묻으려면 어떻게 해야하지?' 라는 충동질에 넘어가 아버지 좌상을 목졸라 죽입니다. (아니 조상 음덕을 받는게 명당인데 아빠를 죽여서 묻어..?-_-) <- 뭐 이건 사소한 의문입니다. 왕위를 계승하는 중입니다 아버지 그런데 아빠 죽인 다음에 묻으려고 어디가 그 명당인지 물어보려고 가니까 흥선군이 지관을 납치했다는 사실을 알아냅니다. 그래서 흥선군에게 지관의 위치를 알려준 기생 문채원을 잡아다 고문합니다. '흥선군 어디있느냐!' 근데 문채원이 잡혀갔다는 소식을 들은 흥선군이 거기 찾아가요. 흥선군이 어디있는지 알아내려고 문채원을 고문하고 있었는데 흥선군이 왔습니다. 와! 흥선군을 잡아야죠! 그런데 한가롭게 거적대기에 쌓여있던 문채원을 꺼냅니다. 아니? 분장팀 뭐한거죠? 거적대기에 쌓여 마구 폭행당했는데 (저는 사실 거적에서 죽은 문채원이 나올 줄 알았음) 얼굴이 뽀샤시한 색조화장을 곱게하고 일주일전에 넘어져 살짝 까진듯한 상처가 얼굴에 몇군데 있는 곱상한 문채원이 나옵니다. 뭐지? 안 때렸음? 분명 흥선군이 어디있느냐고 고문하기 시작했는데 꺼내더니 지관이 어디있는지 물어봅니다. 문채원은 너같은 놈한테 말 안한다고 자살합니다. 그 장면을 본 흥선군은 '사람 죽이는 걸 구경거리라 하다니 자네도 너무하는군' 하고 슬픈 연기를 하고 (그런데 난 슬플수가 없다) (그리고 사실 구경거리란 말은 네가 한거야..좌상아들이 한 말아님) 가버립니다. 아니? 좌상아드님? 흥선군이 어디있냐고 흥선군 찾아 고문하던 중이었는데 지금 여기 왔던 흥선군 왜 그냥 보내는거죠?? 그러더니 장면이 바뀝니다. 아까 장면에서 입은 내상이 다 회복되지 않았는데 좌상아들의 부하들이 결정타를 멕입니다. "몸종이 흥선군이 어디있는지 불었습니다!" "가자!" 야 xxx 방금 니네 앞에 왔다갔잖아 이게 뭐하자는거야. 흥선군 어디갔냐 고문함 - 흥선군 나타남 - 고문하던 사람 죽임 - 흥선군 그냥 감(?) - 몸종들에게 흥선군 어디있냐 고문함 - 어디있는지 불자 바로 잡으러감 아아아아악 저는 여기서 온몸을 뒤틀며 괴로워했고 일행이 저를 안쓰럽게 쳐다보았습니다. 자..흥선군은 가야사 절이 왕이 나오는 명당이란 걸 알고 절을 불태우고 자기 묘로 쓰려고 합니다. 흥선군의 일행 6명은 칼을 들고 보무도 당당하게 절로 들어갑니다. 엄청 큰 절인 가야사 마당에는 마당을 쓸고 있는 6명의 스님이 있습니다. 마당을 쓸고 있는 스님만 6명이야..6:6입니다. 절 크기를 보아하니 마당 쓰는 스님만 6명이면 절안에 스님이 30명은 더 있을 거 같은데요. 제가 보기엔 여기를 불태우겠다고 하면 흥선군 일행이 몰매를 맞고 쫓겨날거 같습니다. 그러나 흥선군 일행 6명이 스님을 모두 쫓아내고 불을 지르려 하는 순간 좌상 아들이 부하들 수십명을 이끌고 나타납니다. 말싸움하는데 금위군 수십명이 나타납니다. 이 금위군은 왕이 금위군을 이끌고 좌상을 치러 가자 거기서 왕을 배신하고 좌상의 부하로서 왕에게 칼을 겨눴던 금위군으로 좌상의 부하들이었습니다. 좌상아들은 금위군에게 흥선군을 잡으라 하는데 갑자기 금위군이 흥선군 편을 듭니다. 아니..그럴거면 왕이랑 좌상잡으러갔을 때 왕족편 들었으면 게임 끝났었잖아... 왜 지금 저쪽에도 병력있을때 왕도 아닌 흥선군 편을 들어.. 어쨌든 좋습니다 마지막 전투 해야하니까 참고 넘깁니다. 막 싸우다가 흥선군이 좌상아들 목에 칼을 겨누고 이깁니다. 여기서 흥선군이 좌상아들의 목을 쳤으면 제가 이런 리뷰는 안썼을 겁니다. 근데 갑자기 협상합니다. 좌상아들은 자기가 왕되는걸 포기하고 이 명당을 흥선군에게 넘기는 걸로 협상합니다. 왕도 죽여줄거라고. 흥선군도 좌상아들에게 지금 권세를 유지시켜주겠다고 합니다. 님들 왜 싸운거임? 좌상아들은 자기 왕되겠다고 아빠도 죽였는데..그렇게 쿨하게 포기할 수 있는거였음? 하다 못해 지금 이 장면에서는 왜 싸운거야?? 아니..야 흥선군.. 그냥 힘대힘으로 싸울 수 있고 협상할 수 있으면 앞에 이게 뭐한거야.. 그리고 흥선군은 지관에게 너네 부모님 시신 안부는 안녕함? 하고 패드립을 친후 지관을 죽입니다. 너 복이 없는거 보니 너는 니 부모님 명당에 안 모셨나보다 하고요. 이렇게 영화는 관객이 근본적으로 가질 수 있는 의문이지만 영화에 몰입하려고 생각하지 않았던 의문을 지가 던집니다. 아니 거기 묻어서 왕될 수 있으면 지관은 왜 자기 애비를 거기다 안묻음? 그리고 좌상은 명당of명당에 부모님들 묻어놨는데 아들한테 목졸려 죽었네 명당 그거 개뿔아님? 야씨..누가 그걸 생각 못해서 생각안하고 있는 줄 아냐.. 지금 영화보려고 그정도는 익스큐즈해주는건데 니가 그 말을 하면 어떻게 해. 이렇게 영화는 뒤에 가서 자기가 잘했던 도입부분까지 망쳐버립니다. 이외에도 말안되는 부분이 많고 많지만 심각한 부분만 추렸습니다.. 좌상부하 지관 캐릭터성 이상해.. 나는 그 지관도 조선이라는 나라 자체에 불신이 있어 나라를 망하게 하는 것이 목적인 상처있는 남자라는 설정 정도는 풀어줄 줄 알았어..그런데 앞에서 폼만 잡더니 대원군 앞에서 돈달라고 하다 죽어.. 아니 돈이 목적이면 그냥 좌상이랑 밀당안하고 좌상 말 들었으면 되었을 걸.. 에잇 딱 떨어진 마무리가 안되네요. 의식의 흐름대로 쓰다보니. 이상입니다. 명당보지 마세요. ** 관상의 이정재 등장같은 명당의 '한방' 장면이라면 백윤식이 '너희는 어떻게 생각하느냐'하면서 사랑채 문이 좌라락 열리면서 신하들이 조정처럼 앉아있는 장면일 겁니다. 화면적으로도 멋지고 나름 반전소름.... 그러나 이건 일본 야쿠자 오야붕과 꼬봉들의 위치관계죠. 장군의 아들같은데서 많이 본 장면. 그걸 차용한 거라 오리지날리티가 없음.... *** 말더듬는 안경잽이 왕족.. 저는 이 출연자가 아이돌인가 했습니다. 역시 연기는 나쁘지 않았는데 도대체 왜 말더듬는 설정을 붙였지??? 재미도 없고 감동도 없고 감독이 인상깊으라고 분량 배려를 해주는 것 같은데..? 하는 생각이 들어서요. 생긴 것도 미남이고. 그러나 도무지 왜 이런 캐릭터가 필요한지 알 수 없는 붕 뜬 캐릭터...
