인터넷상의 어떤 커뮤니티를 가던지 눈팅만 하는 유저들은 꽤 많습니다. 이 글도 눈팅만 하던 중 어느 바람이 불어 쓰는 글입니다. 올 해 저는 다이아3으로 시즌을 마무리 짓게 됐습니다. 다이아 까지 가는 과정은 특별할 것이 크게 없어서 친구의 계정을 부탁 받고 골드2까지 올려준 사소한 경험을 들려드리고 싶어서 이 글을 씁니다. 게임이라는 것이 오롯이 즐기면 정말 좋은 취미생활이라고 저는 생각해요. 하지만, 어떤 일이든 목표치를 정해놓으면 마냥 즐겁지만은 않죠. 올 해는 골드를 가겠다, 플레를 가겠다. 등의 목표는 의외로 일반 유저에게 스트레스를 안겨주는 것 같습니다. 오죽하면, 제가 '대리' 라는 안 하던 짓도 처음 하게 되는 계기가 그랬으니까요. 무슨, 물질적인 대가를 받고 하지는 않았습니다. 다이아라지만 대리로 용돈 벌 만큼 실력이 대단하지 않기도 하구요. 사실 '대리'에 대한 제 인식이 부정적이기도 합니다만, 결국은 제 의식과는 별개로 하고야 말았습니다. 해놓고 양심 운운해봐야 웃기지만, 그런 이유로 대가를 받지 않았다는 것도 사실이구요. 대리를 뛴 이유는 만날 때 마다 하소연 하는 친구가 안타까워서였어요. 이 친구가 2주 전까지 실4였습니다. 올 해 배치고사를 치루고 브론즈5에서 부터 시작한 이 친구는 시즌7이 시작하고 단 3주 만에 실버4 까지 올렸었죠. 그래서 저도 이 친구 올 해는 골드 가겠구나 생각했고요. 그러나 왠걸, 그렇게 시즌 종료 직전 까지 계속 실4였습니다. 옆에서 보는 저도 그 친구의 제자리걸음이 마법 같았어요. 최고, 실2 까지 갔었다고 하더라고요. 그런데, 거기만 가면 다시 귀신 같이 실4로 떨어져버리고, 이 후에 횟수를 세어봤는데 20번 그 짓을 반복했다고 하더군요. 그래서 한 번 해보자 하는 생각이 들어서 제가 실버 구간 전쟁터에 뛰어들었습니다. 사실상 저는 브실 구간은 가본 적이 없습니다. 시즌3 부터 롤을 시작해서 30레벨 찍자마자 배치고사를 치렀고, 10승 무패로 실1을 받았었죠. 그리고 바로 골드에 진입했었습니다. 그렇게 시즌3 플레티넘, 시즌4 플레티넘, 시즌5 플레티넘, 시즌6 다이아5, 시즌7 다이아3을 기록했습니다. 그래서 브실 구간에서 치열한 경쟁은 처음이었죠. 말 그대로, 저도 2주안에 골드로 올려주겠다는 목표를 갖게 되니 경쟁이 따로 없더라고요. 저도 2주 동안 스트레스를 좀 받았습니다. 이 친구는 올 해 랭크게임만 900판을 돌렸고요. 이 즈음되면 실력이 실4 구간인거 아니냐는 소리 나올 만도 하죠. 그런데, 옆에서 보는 제 생각은 좀 달랐습니다. 이 친구가 AD Carry 포지션인데, 피지컬, 게임에 대한 운영 이해도, 조합에 대한 이해도, 라인전 실력 어디하나 실버 구간이 아니었거든요. 친구라서 두둔 하는 거 아닙니다. 그거 두둔해서 뭐하겠습니까. 실버는 그 친구의 현실인데 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ........ 그래서 지금 부터 실4 부터 골드2 까지의 과정을 들려드리겠습니다. 이 글은 브실 구간의 늪에 빠지신 분들에게 공략 글이 될 수도 없어요. 다들 못 올라가는 경우가 가지각색이라, 정답 역시 없기 때문이죠. 저는 주포가 탑라인 입니다. 음, 사실 다이아에서는 선호 포지션을 어필하면 양보도 심심찮게 하는지라 남는데 가는 편이기는 해요. 가장 잘 다루는 챔프는 제이스와 나르, 쉔 정도입니다. 꽤 많은 분들이 다이아 라고 하면 캐리력은 기본일거라고 생각하시는데, 그건 매우 상대적입니다. 무엇이 캐리냐에 따라 의견도 갈릴 건데, 전 다이아 중에서도 캐리력이 좋은 편은 아닙니다. 가장 잘하는 제이스나 나르를 잡더라도 라인전을 압살하진 못 합니다. 오히려, 라인전은 반반가면 다행이구요. 개인적으로 한타와 운영에 대한 이해도가 남다르다 정도 자신 있게 말 할 수 있습니다. 중반 넘어가면 게임을 잘 푸는 편입니다. 만약 제가 게임 내적으로 초반도 잘하는 유저라면 다이아에 있지 않겠죠. 거두절미하고, 그렇다면! 브실에서는 어떠했는가. 브실에선 제가 라인전을 쉽게쉽게 압살 했을거라고 예상하시는 분들이 있을텐데요. 전혀 아닙니다 ㅋㅋ...... 사실, 좀 놀랐어요. 이 유저가 실버라고? 싶은 팀원도 있었고, 상대편도 있었습니다. 친구 아이디가 MMR이 워낙 낮아서 대리 시작 초반에는 브론즈 상위 티어 분들도 제법 만나서 플레이하게 됐었는데요. 저랑 생각이 다르신 분들이 많겠지만, 실버에 계신 분들 플레 분들이랑 붙고, 다이아 하위 티어 분들 만나도 압도적으로 밀릴 부분은 크게 없다고 느꼈어요. 이 역시 동의하지 않으시는 분들 꽤 많을 텐데, 제 생각에 그들이 브실일 수밖에 없는 첫 번째 이유는 트롤링이 이들의 발목을 붙잡는 확률이 매우 높다였어요. 이 구간은 정말 트롤이 많습니다. 그게 정말 못해서 트롤인 경우는 생각보다 드물어요. 5번의 랭크게임을 한다면 2번의 게임에서는 1명 이상의 트롤을 데리고 3명 정도의 플레이어가 게임을 이끌어야하는데 이 트롤들은 연패로 인해 이미 멘탈이 깨진 상태로 게임에 임하는 경우가 허다합니다. 게임 하면서 무슨 멘탈이 그렇게 밥 먹듯이 깨지냐고 물으실 수도 있죠. 그런데 깨집니다. 밥먹듯이. 아니, 밥먹는 횟수보다 많이. 프로세계에서도 상향평준화 라는 얘기가 나옵니다. 일반 유저들이라고 다르지 않아요. 천상계는 말 그대로 천상계니까 제쳐두고, 브실 구간에서 상위 티어를 목표로 닳고 닳으신 분들은 게임 이해도가 같은 브실이라도 애초에 다릅니다. 수준이 예전 브실이 아니라 충분히 많이 올라왔다는 얘깁니다. 다만 이분들도 고질적인 습관 같은 것이 있어요. 이게 두 번째고, 첫 번째와 같은 얘기 일수 있습니다만, 실력은 브실이 아닌데, 그들을 브실로 만드는 직접적인 원인은 타인의 트롤링이 아니라 본인들의 멘탈 입니다. 채팅과 아군의 트롤링에 대한 정형화된 반응이에요. 아군이 짤리면 바로 화냅니다. 채팅을 치죠. '거기 와드 없는데 왜 그 지역으로 무빙하느냐', '맵리가 안돼냐', '거기 상대 와드 있다고 핑 찍어줬잖아' 등 뭐 반응은 셀 수 없이 다양합니다. 물론, 그렇게 짤리신 분들도 'ㅈㅅ' 이 한 마디 안하기도 하죠. 갱승을 당하더라도 'ㅈㅅ' 이 한 마디가 게임에 참여한 인원들에게 멘탈적으로 큰 영향을 미칩니다. 반대로 짤린 아군에게 'ㄱㅊ' 이라고 한 번 쳐주더라도 다음 갱킹이나 기습등 다양한 플레이에서 실수를 만회 할 기회가 주어집니다. 서로 채팅 치며 거친 언행으로 기분상하고 멘탈 나가면 플레이의 유연성도 확연히 떨어집니다. 이건 구간을 막론하고 다 마찬가지에요. 다만, 그 빈도수가 승패의 여부를 결정짓는 것은 분명합니다. 플레티넘이나 다이아도 시즌 막바지의 세기말이 되면 트롤링이 급증합니다. 그때는 여기가 다이아가 맞나 싶기도 하죠. 3번째는 '난 이 구간에 있을 사람이 아니다' 에요. 이게 왜 브실 잔류의 원인이냐면 본인이 게임을 주도 하려고 하다보니 타인의 플레이가 불만스러운 겁니다. 한 번 불만이 생기면, 요소요소마다 불만은 늘고 그렇게 키보드로 배틀 뜨다가 게임 지는 겁니다. 저도 중재하려다가 많이 지치고 그랬습니다. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ..........자괴감도 들었어요. 이게 뭐라고 내가 중재자를 하고 있나. 사실 중재자 역할이라는 것이 게임에서 말하는 정치질에 가장 부합하는 것이니까요. 전 정말, 친구를 골드 한 번 보내주고 싶었어요. 네.....그랬을 뿐입니다.. 그래서 말인데, 내 실력이 브실에 있을 실력이든 아니든 사실여부를 떠나 브실은 현실이에요. 내가 브실, 지금 바로 여기에 있단 말이죠. 내가 브실인 겁니다. 마음은 위에 가있지만. 그리고 승률은 내가 몇 퍼센트를 기록하든지 간에 게임 시작 전에 내가 이기고 질 확률은 어느 쪽으로나 5:5입니다. 우리 팀에 트롤이 있을 확률은 상대팀에게도 적용 되요. 결국 흔한 공략 글과 같은 말씀을 드릴 수밖에 없네요. 실력이 있다고 전제하면, 자기하기 나름입니다. 정말 실력이 없어서 못 올라가는 경우도 당연히 있어요. 더 많죠. 근데, 그것은 뭐라 딱히 드릴 얘기가 없어요. 그 중엔 즐겜유저가 꽤 많으신 것 같아서요. 그리고 그런 분들은 티어에 관심 없더라고요. 그리고 이건 좀 논외의 얘기입니다만, 티모, 제드, 야스오를 대표로 그 어느 구간을 보더라도 브실 구간에서 저 세 챔피언의 픽률이 가장 높습니다(저조한 승률을 가진 챔피언 중에서 말이죠). 덩달아 밴픽률도 가장 높구요. 승률은 가장 낮은 하위 몇 퍼센트에 속하는 챔피언들입니다. 대체 티모 같이 만만한 챔피언을 왜 벤하느냐. 라는 생각을 상위 티어를 갈수록 많이 하게 됩니다. 같은 편이 하는 꼴 보기 싫어서 일겁니다. 픽률도 높고, 벤픽률도 높다. 라는건, 우리 편이 하는 것도 싫지만 반대로는 상대가 할 때는 위협적이라고 판단하는 겁니다. 티어가 낮을수록, 오히려 파훼법이 뚜렷한 챔피언을 상대하기를 꺼려합니다. 티모 라인전 막강하죠. 어느 티어나 마찬가집니다. 실력차이가 비등하다고 가정 할 때 탑라인에서 압도적 우위를 점 하는 것은 챔피언의 상성입니다. 다만, LoL에서 라인전이 막강한 챔피언들의 꽤 많은 숫자가 라인전이 강한 반면에 갱킹에 취약하고, 말리면 답이 없습니다. 반대로는 풀리면 답도 없이 상대하기 힘들다는 뜻도 됩니다만, 티어가 올라갈수록 하이 리스크, 하이 리턴인 챔피언은 상대적으로 보기 힘들어요. 더더군다나, 티모, 제드, 야스오는 정형화 된 파훼법이 이미 나와있어요. 오히려, 탑을 하시는 분들은 티모나 야스오가 나오면 좋아하시면 됩니다. 두려워 마세요. 티모는 찢으라고 있는겁니다. 티모, 제드, 야스오는 전부 해당사항이 있습니다. 하이 리스크, 하이 리턴이 팀적으로 긍정적인 효과를 발휘하려면 개인의 타고난 피지컬 또는 오랜 기간 해온 숙련도가 필요하고 브실 구간에서는 그걸 기대하기는 어렵죠. 그걸 저조한 승률이 증명하고 있어요. 티모가 너무 사랑스러워서 하는게 아니라, 라인전 압도하고 싶어서 픽하는 거라면 제이스가 낫습니다. 심지어 제이스는 라인전에서 티모를 압도하죠. 아, 그리고 브실 구간에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 미드, 탑 하이머딩거 역시도 제이스로 압도 할 수 있습니다. 전에 마린선수가 말했죠. 솔랭에서는 라인전 쌘 캐하면 된다. 그냥 무조건 라인전 쌘 거 하세요. 라고요. 맞는 말입니다만, 제 생각으로는 아니기도 합니다. 마린 선수의 그 말이 '티모 하세요'는 분명히 아니거든요. 사실, 티모 라는 챔피언이 사랑스러워서, 제드나 야스오가 화려해서 하시는 분들에게는 승률의 저조함을 늘어놔봐야 별 소용없기는 합니다. 지더라도 하고 싶은 거니까요. 다만, 정말 올라가고 싶으신 분들이 계신다면 티모,야스오,제드는 과감히 버리세요. 개인적으로 승률이 좋으신 분들은 계속 하셔도 무방합니다. 그럼, 티모 장인으로 다이아, 마스터 가는 사람들은 뭐냐 라고 물으신다면, 그 분들은 그냥 무엇을 해도 잘합니다. 재능의 차이죠. 티모로 유명한 장인들, 가끔 상위티어에서 볼 수 있는 감탄 유발하는 티모,야스오,제드 유저들과 자신을 비교하지마세요. 비교 대상이 아닙니다. 제가 제이스만 2200판의 장인이라고 나라카일과 비교하면 납득 할 수 있는 분들 없어요. 저도 그렇게 생각하고요. 제가 제이스를 지속적으로 운운하는 것은 제이스가 정말 좋은 챔피언이 라고 추천하는 의미는 아니에요. 혹시 라인전 강력한 챔피언을 찾으신다면 해보시라고 권유 드리는 정도로 생각하시면 될 것 같아요. 사실, 브실의 불안요소를 나열 하라고 하면 위에 늘어놓은 얘기들뿐만 아니라 문제가 많아요. 그 얘기는 내가 브실에 있고, 올라가고 싶다면 그 문제들을 다 뚫어야한다는 얘깁니다. 더불어, 이것은 어느 티어나 마찬가지인데 실수를 줄여야합니다. 브실은 기본기가 안 되어 계신 분들이 많아요. 가장 흔한 일이 라인 쭉쭉 밀다가 상대 위치가 체크가 안돼서 짤리는 경우죠. 그건 전부 한 끗 차이로 벌어지는 일이에요. CS 하나 라도 더 먹고 싶어서, 이것만 먹으면 코어템 나와서. 가장 큰 이유는 와드 안 사서입니다. 예를 들어보죠. 코어템을 완성 할 수 있는 자금이 모였습니다. 그런데, 코어템 사고 나면 와드 살 돈이 없는 상황. 그럼 코어템 완성 안 시키고 제어와드 2개 사셔야 됩니다. CS 하나 더 먹고 싶다가도 와드를 통해 날 자르러 오는 상대를 보면 CS 자연스럽게 포기하게 됩니다. 에이, 설마 여기로 간다고 적이 있겠어? 네 있습니다. 한 번 죽고, 두 번 죽고 같은 실수를 반복하는 것이 브실 구간이에요. ‘죽는다’는 게임 내적으로 영향을 아주 많이 미치는 과정 중 하나에요. 내가 죽었다. 그럼 몇 십초 동안 아군들은 5:4 게임 하는 겁니다. 자신 있게 말씀드립니다만, 죽지 않는다면 게임 결과가 달라져요. 특히 AD Carry가 죽고 안 죽고는 더 더욱 중요하죠. 나중에 한 번 죽은 원딜, 한 번도 죽지 않은 원딜은 할 수 있는 것이 달라져요. 미세한 템 차이로 인한 딜교의 주도권, 딜교의 주도권으로 인한 시야장악 주도권은 라인전의 주도권으로 넘어가고 아군 정글러의 부담감을 가중 시키는 결과를 낳습니다. 정글 탓 하지마세요. 정글이 갖는 무기력함의 원인은 1차적으로 라이너들에게 있습니다. 실수를 하고 안하고의 문제가 게임 결과를 달리 만드는 경우는 오히려 브실 구간에 더 많아요. 왜냐면, 실수투성이거든요. 내가 상대보다 실수를 덜 하겠다는 생각을 한다면, 분명 좋은 결과가 있을 겁니다. 들려드리고 싶은 얘기는 굉장히 많아요. 왜 그러냐면 2주간 해보니 답답하고, 내 멘탈도 자주 깨지기도 했고요, 다 떠나서 분명히 올라갈 수 있는데 못 가시는 분들이 분명하게 보이다보니 참 별게 다 안타깝고 그래서 도움을 좀 드리고 싶은 마음도 들더라고요. 사실 가장 좋은 것은 그러거나 말거나 그냥 즐기는 겁니다. 온전히 즐길 수 있다면 그 보다 좋은 것이 어디 있겠습니까. 네, 저도 알아요. 결국 뻔하디 뻔한 글이죠. 크게 도움이 안 될 것이다 라고 저도 생각해요. 그리고 마지막 팁 아닌 팁을 드리자면, 게임의 기본 구성을 적극적으로 활용하세요. 포탑을 미는 게임, 포탑을 밀려면 시간이 필요하고 그 시간을 안정적으로 쓸 수 있게끔 도와주는 적극적인 와드 설치를 하세요. 라인전이 힘들어서 시에스를 못 먹는다. 버리고 경험치만 드세요. 어떤 것이 더 나은 선택인지 생각해보면 됩니다. 시에스 하나 더 먹어보겠다고 앞 무빙 치고 솔킬을 주는 것이 나은지, 중후반을 바라보는 것이 나을지 등이요. 홍차넷에서 LoL을 즐겨 하시는 분들에게, 특히나 올라가고 싶은 분들에게 작게나마 도움이 되었으면 좋겠습니다. 사실 형편없긴 하네요; 그냥 제 생각일 뿐이니 편하게 생각 해주신다면 감사하겠습니다. 다음 시즌에는 꼭 골드가세요!
