왕과비는 문종 - 단종 - 세조 - 예종 - 성종 - 연산군까지를 그리는 드라마로 제가 본거에 한해서는 가장 많은 조선 임금이 나오는 드라마입니다. 물론 저 시대를 정말 다 보여준 건 아니고 중간중간 끊은 것들도 많습니다. 사실 저 시대를 전부 다 한 드라마에 다 옮기기에는..-_-;분량이 너무 많다보니 작가가 말하고 싶은 부분만 골라 썻다고 보는 게 맞겠죠 진짜 다 쓰기엔 정말 많으니 별 수 없기도 하고요 이 작품의 작가는 정하연 작가입니다. 저 개인적으로는 이 정하연 작가가 만드는 작품은 대체로 정말 잘만든다이지만 그렇다고 그 작품을 좋아하냐?라고 묻는다면 글쎄 그냥 반반?이라고 말할 거 같습니다. 제가 역사인물에 대한 호불호가 어느정도 있기도 하거니와 아무리 드라마라고 해도 지나친 역사왜곡을 싫어하다보니 이 작가의 작품을 그저 재미로만 보기엔 뭔가 깨림칙한게 많거든요(..) (이 작가의 대표작 2가지만 나열하자면 제목에 있는 왕과 비 그리고 명성황후입니다. 왜 꺠림칙하다고 하는지 바로 감이 오죠?) (동시에 이 작가의 작품은 신돈같이 뭔가 좀 괴랄한 걸 제외하면 대체로 호평이 많은 작가이기도 합니다. 실제로 재미있기도 해요) 본론으로 넘어가서 이 작품의 단점(..)부터 말하자면 첫째. 초중반 템포가 너무너무너무너무 느리다 둘째. 인물들의 역사왜곡이 너무 심하다 특히 문종과 세조와 김종서 그리고 인수대비 거기에 덧붙이자면 정희왕후와 성종도(..) 셋째. 초중반 템포가 너무 느리다보니 정작 임금은 많이 등장하는데 타임워프가 너무 많다. (다만 이걸 무조건 단점으로 지적하긴 좀 그런면도 있습니다.) 첫번째 단점은 진짜 드라마보면 답답해서 못볼 지경입니다. 이 드라마의 첫번째 이벤트(?)라고 할 수 있는 계유정난까지 진짜 미칠듯이 시간을 질질 끕니다. 주몽이 고구려 세울떄까지 시간 미친듯이 끈 주몽보다는 낫지만 그래도 너무 지루합니다. 전작인 용의 눈물 버프를 받고도 시청률이 저하됬던 원인중 하나로 지목받고 있기도 하고요 (시청률이 반등한건 안재모의 연산군이 등장하고 나서부터입니다.) 두번째 단점은 실록을 너무 교차검증없이 있는 그대로 받아들이고 그 와중에 그 기록내에서도 작가 본인이 좋아할만한 것만 취사선택함에 따른 대참사가 발생한겁니다. 이 작가의 비슷한 시기를 다루는 다른 작품들을 보더라도 세조를 너무 미화하고 문종을 너무 나약하게 그립니다. 사실 문종 나약하게 그리는 건 이 작가만의 문제가 아니라 이 시기를 다루는 대부분의 한국 사극의 고질병중에 하나지만요..-_-; 여튼 문종부터 울보로 만들어버리는 데다 세조를 미화하다못해 너무 착해서 탈인 사람으로 만듭니다. 그 와중에 인수대비는 완전히 권력을 잡고 싶어하며 언제 어느때나 권력의 중심에 있는 인물로 그립니다만 실제 역사와는 다소 거리가 멉니다..(..) 인수대비를 미화하기 위해 정희왕후를 깎아내리는 연출도 어느정도 하고 있고요 그 와중에 세조와 대적한 안평대군은 그냥 완전개찌질이로 나오고 김종서 역시 찌질하지만 않다뿐이지 악역스러운 이미지로 나옵니다..-_-aa 성종 역시 너무 유약한 임금으로만 나오며 폐비윤씨를 그리워하는 임금으로 나오지만 실제 기록을 보면 전혀 그렇지 않죠 드라마의 재미를 위해 어느정도 각색이 필요하고 인물들을 어느정도 재해석하는 건 필수불가결합니다만 이 작품의 인물들은 너무 지나치게 왜곡되어있다는 게 문제입니다. 세조를 미화시키기 위해 문종과 김종서를 폄하하였고 인수대비를 돋보이기 위해 정희왕후를 유약하게 만들었습니다. 작중 그려지는 인수대비의 모습은 되려 실제 기록으로 따지면 정희왕후가 더 비슷할 텐데 그 반대로 해버린거죠 세번째 단점은 사실 어쩔 수 없는 부분이기도 합니다. 너무 많이 타임워프한게 문제이지 사실 안할 수는 없었어요 기본적으로 계유정난까지 너무 많은 시간을 지체한 것도 있었고 많은 왕이 나오는 드라마에서 일일이 다 모든걸 그려내기엔 빠듯했거든요. 굳이 문제로 지목한건 그냥 타임워프가 좀 지나치게 많았기때문?(..) 기억나는 거만 적어보자면 단종이 죽고 난 뒤로 몇년을 워프했던게 있고 폐비윤씨가 죽으면서 곧바로 타임워프가 되서 (세자시절)연산군이 청년 안재모로 등장한것..(..) 폐비윤씨까지 심도있게 그리고 곧바로 타임워프하면서 성종은 와병하는 신세가 됩니다..무오사화 이후 갑자사화를 빨리 보내기 위해 다시 한번 타임워프 등등.. 단점이라고 적었는 데 보니깐 최대한 빨리 극을 이끌기 위해 적절한 선택이었던거 같기도..한데 사실 저거 저렇게 워프하고도 186부작인데다 시간 뭄진장 끌었습니다...ㅋㅋㅋ 단점을 정말 길게 적었으니 장점좀 말해보자면 정하연 작가가 그려내는 작품 특유의 뭐라고 표현해야하나..(..) 한 사람의 인생이 밑바닥에서 위로 올라간다던가 위에서 아래로 파멸하는 그 그림을 정말 미칠듯이 잘 그려냅니다. 가령 역사적 사실과는 무관하게 이 작품에서 초반 수양은 동생인 안평과 김종서에게 미칠듯한 견제와 멸시를 받습니다만 끝내 그것을 이겨내고 권좌를 차지하는 데 성공합니다. 너무 질질 끌어서 문제긴 했습니다만 어찌되었든 그 기간동안 수양대군을 불쌍왕으로 만드는 데 성공했고 그 불쌍왕이 결국 그 역경을 이겨내는 그림을 그려내면서 보는 사람으로하여금 카타리시스(로 위장한 뒷목잡기)를 만끽하게 만들죠(..) 다른듯하면서도 비슷하고 비슷한듯 하면서도 다른건 인수대비가 있고요 사저에 있을때부터 야심만만했고 세자빈이 되었을때는 물론이고 결국 의경세자가 죽으면서 사가로 다시 나갈때 역시 마찬가지로 언제나 권력을 탐하고 갖길 원하는 모습을 너무 잘그려냈습니다. 물론 이 모든걸 연기자들이 미칠듯이 연기를 잘했기때문에 더 돋보이기도 했고요 또 다른 인물을 살펴보면 유자광과 연산군이 있습니다. 이 작품에 나오는 유자광과 연산군은 광기에 사로잡힌 모습을 보여줍니다. 그 광기의 모습이 약간씩 다르긴 합니다만 자신을 멸시하는 자들에 대한 원색적인 분노를 대단히 고퀄리티(?) 표현해냅니다. 심리묘사도 엄청나죠 역시 역사적 사실과는 무관하지만 문종부터 시작해 연산군까지 각자가 독백을 하거나 누군가와 말을 할떄 나누는 대사를 보면 그 캐릭터의 심리상태에 대한 묘사가 정말 충실합니다. "나는 수없이 물었다. 내가 아버님 세종대왕만한 임금인가? 아버님만은 못해도 할아버님 태종대왕만은 한가? 나는 따를 수가 없었다. 나는 무능하고 병약하고 인정을 끊지 못하는 허약한 임금이다. 나는 다시 물었다. 나는 내 아우만한가. 수양은 고사하고 안평보다는 뛰어난가. 나는 내가 내 아우보다 못한 것을 잘 안다. 나두 알고 내 아버님께서도 아시는 일이다. 그러기에 부왕께서는 나를 왕 위에 세우는 것을 무척이나 망설이셨다. 나는 그것이 두려워 죽기로 아버님께 효성을 바쳤다. 밤새워 부왕의 병을 간호하고 심지어 부왕의 온몸에 창욕이 번창하면 내 몸이 종기가 없음을 한탄하였다. 그것이 나니라. 내 몸에 종기가 나자 뛸 듯이 기뻐했던 나니라. 나는 오래 살지 못한다. 그러면서도 나는 내 아들만을 생각하는 못난 임금이다." 나무위키에 정하연 작가 항목에 있는 대사중 하나입니다. 역사적으로는 말도 안되는 헛소리지만 드라마 대사로만 보자면 그 사람의 심리묘사를 엄청나게 잘한다는 걸 알 수 있죠 이걸 작품이 끝날떄가지 유지합니다..-_-;; 역사왜곡 지나친 미화와 관계없이 저런 묘사는 진짜 ㅎㄷㄷ하면서 보게 만드는 마력이 있습니다. 실제로 이 드라마는 초반 시청률이 (용의 눈물 버프를 받고도) 고전을 면치 못했지만 그럼에도 불구하고 일정수치는 꾸준히 유지했으며 결국 연산군대에 와서 폭발시킬 수 있었던 건 이런 묘사가 탁월했기때문이죠 (동시에 배우들의 연기력도 엄청났고요.. 진짜 지금 봐도 인수대비를 연기한 채시라씨의 포쓰는 엄청납니다..) 저 스스로가 사극을 봄에 있어 좀 꽉 막힌 구석이 있어 이 드라마를 좋은 드라마라고 하지는 못하겠지만 한번쯤 볼만한 드라마라고는 평할 수 있겠네요 초반 질질 끄는 부분은 빼고요..(..)
