재능있는 공대생 마에자와는 어느날 흥미로운 프로그램 하나를 개발하게 됩니다. 그것은 바로 궁극의 다수결 이끌어낼수 있는 프로그램이였으니.. 1. 어떤 사안이 있습니다. 예를들면 '사과를 훔친 도둑을 잡았다'와 같은. 2. 이 사안에 대해서 3천명의 네티즌이 각자의 의견을 내놓습니다. 경찰에 맡긴다/용서해준다/사정을 들어보고 결정한다 등등등. 3. 여러가지 의견중에서 가장 다수의 의견과 가장 소수의 의견이 각각 한가지씩 채택되어 다시 보기로 오릅니다. 4. 두가지 의견중에서 투표를 통해 가장많은 표를 획득한 의견이 최종적으로 정해집니다. 5. 여기서 소수의 의견이란 3천명중에서 1~2명의 비율로 나타나는 희긔한 발상으로써 그 기발함이 나머지들에게 새로운 시각을 제공할 여지가 있다는게 개발자 마에자와 의도입니다. 설명이 조잡했지만 걱정마세요. 만화책에서는 훨씬 재밌고 쉽게 설명해 줍니다. 아무튼 마에자와는 이 프로그램을 어떤 초딩게임을 만드는 회사에 팔게 되었고 술자리에서 자랑합니다. 뭐 대부분의 친구들이 부러워 하면서 칭찬을 해주는데, 저쪽 구석탱이에서 묵묵히 썰을 듣고 있던 뚱땡이 하나가 깊은 탄식을 내뱉습니다. 그리곤 떠들어대죠. "좀 아깝지 않나? 예를들어 그 프로그램으로 움직이는 휴먼로이드가 있다면, 대중의 집단지성을 집약하여 행동하는, 신의 지혜를 갖춘 초인이 될 텐데." 솔깃하는 마에자와, 하지만 때는 이미 늦었습니다. 왜냐하면 프로그램은 벌써 팔아치웠기에 저작권으로부터 자유로울수가 없기 때문이죠. 그래서 결국은 모든걸 비밀리에 부치고 움직입니다. 로봇을 만드는것도, 3천명의 네티즌을 모으는것도. 너무 참신하지 않나요? 근데 참신하기만 한게 아닙니다. 이 참신한 설정은 초반부에만 쓰이고 버려지는게 아닌, 집단지성과 민주주의,군중심리에 대한 여러가지 이야기를 아우르며 점점 크게 번져나갈 기세를 보여줍니다. 그리고 서스펜스를 자아내죠. 서브플롯도 인터넷과 키워같은 트렌디한 소재를 사용해서 더욱 즐겁습니다. 제목은 데모크라티아 입니다. 네이버로 검색하니 고대 그리스 폴리스의 국가체제로 요약할수있고 데모스(시민)+크라투스(권력)의 합성어이다.. 라는 정보를 얻을수가 있네요. 만화방에 가신다면 한번쯤 읽어보기실 추천합니다. 좋은하루 되세요.
