* 스포일러 포함되어있습니다 ** 평소에 영화를 많이 보는 것도 아니고 비평할 깜냥도 안 되기에 어디까지나 개인적인 감상평입니다  얼마 전부터 온라인 커뮤니티 몇군데에서 어느 일본 영화의 예고편이 올라오더군요. 속옷 차림의 여성이 땀을 잔뜩 흘리면서 몸을 비트는, '야한' 영상이었습니다. 우리 말로 제목 달아놓고 개봉한다고 써놓은 걸 보아하니 우리나라에 정식으로 수입된 거 같던데 심의를 고려했을 때 적당히 야한 장면 몇 개만 편집한 전형적인 사춘기 영화겠구나...라는 게 당시의 인상이었습니다. 그러다가 같은 영상을 자꾸 보게 되고 '모두가 초능력자'라는 제목과 저 에로틱한 영상이 무슨 접점을 갖는지 궁금해져서 한 번 검색했습니다. 그러니까 익숙한 이름이 나옵니다. 소노 시온. 소노 시온이 만든 영화는 딱 한 편 봤습니다. 10년쯤 전에 나온 '기묘한 서커스'라는 영화였죠. 극장에서 본 건 아니었지만 뭔 내용인지도 모르고 봤다가 굉장한 충격을 받았기에 인상이 강렬하게 남아있었습니다. 그렇다면 이 영화, 사실은 단순한 병맛이 아니라 나름 스타일리시한 영화일지도 모른다, 만화 원작에 드라마도 찍었었다니 개판은 아닐 수도 있다, 밑져도 에로틱코미디 보는 걸로 치자, 라는 마인드로 IPTV 결제해서 시청했습니다. 아, 금액은 에누리 없이 1만원이었습니다. 평소에 IPTV로 싼 영화만 보다가 만원짜리를 덜컥 결제하려니 괜히 망설여졌습니다만 신작영화니까 지르고 재생. 영화의 줄거리는 이렇습니다. 주인공 카모가와 요시로는 학교 친구와 야동 얘기를 하며, 자위를 즐기고, 여학생의 팬티만 봐도 바지를 찢을 듯이 발기가 되는 성욕 충만한 남학생입니다. 이 친구는 신기하게도 어머니 뱃속에서의 기억을 갖고 있는데, 산부인과에서 어머니 옆자리에 앉아있던 산모의 태아와 텔레파시를 주고 받았던 거죠. '태어난 뒤에 다시 만나자'라던 이 누군가를 운명의 상대라고 생각하며 항상 만나기를 고대하고 있습니다. 그래서 이 친구는 자신이 알고 있는 예쁜 여성들을 떠올리면서 자위하다가 마지막에 운명의 상대를 애타게 갈구하는 게 취미이자 일상입니다. 그런데 공교롭게도 이 자위행위 때문에 남들의 생각을 읽는 초능력을 얻게 되고, 같은 시각에 마찬가지로 자위행위를 하다가 발생한 기현상으로 초능력을 얻은 모태솔로들을 만나 사악한 초능력자들에게 맞서 세상을 구하겠다는 큰 꿈을 갖게 됩니다. 그리고 마을 사람들이 에로해지는 현상이 발생하는데... 이 뒤로는 뭐 전형적인 '악당에 맞서 싸우는 정의로운 주인공' 스토리인 것도 있고, 부분부분 장면들을 언급할 거라서 생략합니다. 이 영화를 보는 내내 들었던, 그리고 크레딧이 올라갈 때까지 드는 생각은 [그래서 하고 싶은 말이 대체 뭐야?]였습니다. 영화 중간까지는 이 영화의 테마가 '억압받는 청춘과 그들의 욕망'이라고 생각했습니다. 초능력자는 정의로워야 한다는 강박관념에 즐기던 자위도 끊고, 야한 생각마저 외면하려고 애쓰는 주인공 요시로의 모습이나 자신의 욕구를 들키면 안 되는 여러 등장인물들(여자가 자위하면 안되냐고 외치던 미유키나 주변인들에게 이상한 사람처럼 취급받던 레즈비언 아키코), 영화 삽입곡 가사에 나오는 '유토리 세대', 인질극을 벌이던 여성들이 주장한 '인간답게 살기 위해 욕망을 드러내야 한다!' 등을 봤을 때 보수적인 가치관에 얽매여 있는 젊은이들을 그려내려고 하는 게 아닌가... 라는 거였죠. 근데 극이 진행될수록 꿈보다 해몽인 겁니다. 영화의 흐름은 주인공과 대립하던 아키코가 페이크보스임이 드러나고 아이코가 眞보스로 등극하면서 개연성 따위 전무한, 유치한 사랑놀음으로 전락합니다. 물론 중간에 아주 엉성한 복선을 깔아두기는 했습니다만 설마 설마 싶은 '깨는' 상황이었는데, 요시로의 '운명의 상대'는 서로가 태아일 때 텔레파시를 주고 받은 사이라서 동년배여야 했습니다. 근데 누가 봐도 얼굴 나이가 다른 '전근 온 선생님'이 '운명의 상대'라고 스스로를 밝히는데 몰입이 될 수가... 배우 프로필을 뒤져보니까 요시로 역의 소메타니 쇼타는 92년생이고, 아이코 역의 타카하시 메리준은 87년생이더군요. 막장 설정이지만 적어도 그럼 동안인 배우를 골랐어야... '날 거부하면 죽여버릴 거야!'라던 얀데레 아이코가 병맛 넘치는 요시로의 대사에 포기하고 사라지는 건 어처구니가 없었고, 마지막에 반전이랍시고 내놓은 '사실 요시로와 텔레파시를 주고받았던 태아는 1명이 아니라 집으로 가는 열차 안의 수십명이었다.'라는 얘기 또한 막장이었습니다. 이 영화의 주제라고 할 수 있는 [운명의 상대는 언젠가 찾아올 이가 아니라 당신 곁의 누군가다]라는 걸 표현하기 위한 수단이었을지는 모르겠습니다만... 컬트적인 맛이 있는 B급 영화가 아니라 삼류 에로게임의 하렘을 구축하기 위한 억지 설정을 보는 느낌이었습니다. 또 하나의 문제점은 이 영화, 소재가 소재라지만 지나치게 야합니다. 남자들은 죄다 색정광이 아닌가 싶을 정도로 앞뒤 안 가리고 밝혀대고, 여자들은 쓸데없이 훌러덩 훌러덩 벗습니다. 물론 늘씬하고 빵빵한 미모의 여성들이 벗어제끼는 게 보기 좋을 수도 있습니다. 야한 거 좋아하는 남자로서 처음에는 흥미진진했고요. 근데 어디까지나 '극을 위트 있게 풀어나가고 분위기를 전환하는 용도의 노출'을 기대하는 거지, '속옷만 입은 여성의 야한 모습'을 보기 위해 영화를 감상하는 게 아니잖아요? 그럴 거면 차라리 이 영화에 출연한 모델들의 IV와 화보집을 보는 게 보다 생산적일 겁니다. 그쪽이 더 야하고, 더 분위기 있을테니까요. 가슴을 클로즈업하고 브래지어를 노출한 배우 중에 소노 시온의 부인(아키야마 타카코 역)도 있었으니 뭐 감독 취향인가보다 할 수도 있겠지만, 어쨌든 영화 보는 데에 있어서는 굉장히 불편했습니다. 그런 서비스신 넣을 런닝타임이 있으면 스토리에 살을 더 붙였어야죠. 해서 병맛이지만 창의력 있는 소재를 바탕으로 나름의 메시지도 담으면서 유머도 놓치지 않은 에로틱 코미디라는 처음의 인상은 온데 간데 없이 사라지고, [이쁜이들 노출 보는 영화]라는 게 최종적인 감상평이었습니다. 그라비아 모델인 시노자키 아이와 콘노 안나가 나왔을 때 눈치를 챘어야 했는데 여배우들 프로필 검색해보니까 대부분 그라비아 아니면 패션 모델, 그리고 아이돌이더군요. 뜬금없이 나왔던 카메오 아가씨는 AKB48 1기였다고 하고요. 어쩐지 예쁜 처자들이 발연기 경쟁을 하더라...  한 줄 요약 : 그라비아스러운 영화는 괜찮지만 영화스러운 그라비아는 좀...
