※독백느낌을 살리기 위해 반말로 작성했습니다. 읽는 분들의 양해를 바랍니다. 나에게 이명박 대통령 시절은 암흑의 계절과도 같았다. 원-엔화 환율이 비정상적으로 높았기 때문에 당시 학생이었던 나에겐 HG등급 하나 사는 것도 벅찬 일이었다. 그럼에도 취미커뮤니티를 들어가면 이런 말들이 종종 보였다, 이른바 '프라탑이 쌓인다'고 하는 사람들의 푸념이. 시간은 없는데 신제품을 계속해서 지르게 되니 개봉하지 않은 프라모델의 박스들이 탑처럼 올라가는걸 프라탑이라고 하는데, 그 당시의 나에겐 정말 배부른 소리로만 들렸다. 정말 남의 일인줄만 알았다. 그리고 세월은 훨훨 지나갔다. 난 직장인이 되었고, 원- 엔화 환율은 반대로 되었다. 엔화는 낮으니 지름은 멈추질않았다. 게다가 검색실력이 느니 할인정보를 얻기도 빨라졌고, 돈의 여유도 있지만 반대로 시간이 없어져 버렸다. 어느샌가 만들지 못한 프라모델 박스들이 미륵사지 석탑의 형태를 띄어갔다. 마치 롤에서 할인을 하길래 챔프를 샀는데 플레이 횟수=0 와 같은 상황이 현실에서 벌어지고 있었다. 그리고 저번주 토요일, '건프라 8배세일'이란 문구에 혹해서 무려 9000엔 짜리 물품을 예약해서 질러놓은게 도착해 버렸다. 택배가 왔다는 말에 신이 나서 집에 도착한 나는 할 말을 잊어버렸다. 그 거대한 단일 박스의 위용에 생각나는 첫 느낌은 행복이 아닌 당혹감이었다. '이걸 어느 세월에 만들어...' 게다가 도서 정가제 전에 한탕 하겠답시고 질러놓은 책들도 방 한구석에서 조용히 나를 노려보고 있다. 지금 난 '시간과 정신의 방'이 너무나 필요하지만 여기는 3차원의 냉혹한 현실셰계이다. 그리고 방금 현실세계는 문자 한통으로 현실이 얼마나 냉혹한지 다시금 알려주었다. 'XXX님께서 주문하신 물품이 발송되었습니다.' 나에겐 시간이 필요하다. 정말로 필요하다.
