네 그렇죠. MCU가 또 망했습니다. (신남) -은 농담입니다. 실제로 가장 최근작인 데드풀과 울버린은 나름 흥행했으며 현재 디즈니 플러스에서 방영중인 애거사 올 얼롱-은 전혀 구리지 않음... 심지어 매우 볼만하다고요! ㅋㅋ 다만 애거사 올 얼롱을 보다보니 왠지 이 드라마의 전작인 완다비전이 궁금해져서 완다비전을 한번 다시 보았는데, 이걸 보다보니, 아 MCU의 페이즈4가 이래서 망했구나 하는게 더 선명하게 보이는것 같아서 그냥 몇자 적어보았읍니다. - 는 왤케 길지... 한줄요약: 그냥 너무 짧은 시간안에 작품을 너무 많이 만들어서 망한거임 ㅅㄱ 예를들어, MCU가 처음 시작할때 MCU는 08년에 단 두개의 영화를 냈을 뿐입니다. (아이언맨 / 인크레더블 헐크) 심지어 09년엔 아무 영화도 내지 않고 건너뛰었으며, 10년에 아이언맨2 딱 하나. 11년에 토르1, 캡틴아메리카1를 낸뒤 12년엔 어벤저스 단 한작품을 냅니다. 6작품을 내는데 무려 5년의 시간이 걸린셈. (1.2작품/1년) 13년엔 두개, 14년에도 두개 15년에도 두개 16년에도 두개씩 MCU영화는 꾸준히 나옵니다. 1년에 영화 2개의 페이스. (2작품/1년) 그러다가 17년부터는 페이스를 올려서 17년부터 세개, 18년에도 세개 (인피니티워 포함) 19년에도 세개가 나옵니다. (엔드게임 포함) (3작품/1년) 그리고 2020년에는 코로나 여파로 한개의 마블 영화도 개봉하지 않았다가 21년에 네개가 개봉하고 22년에 세개의 영화가, 23년에도 세개의 영화가 개봉했는데 이 3년간 개봉된 10편의 영화중 (블랙위도우/샹치/이터널스/스파이더맨3/닥스2/토르4/블랙팬서2/앤트맨3/가오갤3/캡틴마블2) 팬들이 좋아해준건 삼스파가 모두 출연한 스파이더맨3과 가오갤3뿐이었지 싶습니다. 21,22,23년에 걸쳐 MCU영화들이 망하는 동안 마블스튜디오라는게 새로 런칭하면서 드라마들이 또 쏟아져 나왔는데 21년엔 네개의 드라마가 공개되었고 22년엔 세개, 23년엔 두개의 드라마가 각각 공개되었는데 이 아홉개의 드라마중 (완다비전/팔콘과윈터솔져/로키1/호크아이/문나이트/미즈마블/쉬헐크/시크릿인베이전/로키2) 이중 역시 어느게 호평을 받았나 고민해보면 로키1,2밖에는 없는것 같습니다. 그럼 한번 이런식으로 생각해봅시다. 이 기간동안 마블 스튜디오가 쏟아낸 작품이 3년간 영화 10편, 드라마 9편. (6.3작품/1년) 과연 세상에는 3년간 열편의 영화와, 아홉개의 미니시리즈 드라마를 제작하는 시스템이 가능한가? 그것도 이 작품들이 모두 동일한 세계관안에 실시간으로 존재하면서 서로 인과관계를 주고받으며 제작되는 시스템이 가능할수 있다고??? 하는 생각 말입니다. 지금 와서 생각해보면, 페이즈4/5/6은 실패할수밖에 없었던것 아닌가 하는 생각도 좀 듭니다. (물론, 결과론적으로 말하려니 참 말하기 쉽긴 합니다만) 사실 어쩌면, 페이즈3시절부터도, MCU는 1년에 세개의 영화를 만들어 개봉하곤 했는데 1년에 3개의 영화를 만든다는 것부터도 어쩌면 매우 어려운 일이었지 싶습니다. 예를들어 어벤저스 인피니티워를 감독했던 루소 형제는, 인피니티워 개봉직전, 일반관객들을 상대로 실시된 비밀 시사회에서 와칸다 군대가 '이봄베! 이봄베!'를 외치다 트찰라왕이 '와칸다 포에버!'를 외치며 돌격하는 장면에서 관객석에서 열광/환호가 폭포처럼 쏟아져나오는 것을 보고 매우 당황했다고 합니다. 왜냐하면 관객들은 이미 블랙팬서가 개봉하고 / 그 영화를 보고 시사회장에 왔는데 루소 형제는 인피니티워의 마지막 작업을 하느라 너무 바빠서 블랙팬서를 못봤기 때문이었다는 거죠. 루소 형제의 머릿속에 있던 블랙팬서는, 시빌워에 출연했던 트찰라왕까지가 전부였던셈. 말하자면, 관객들은 블랙팬서를 보고 그 감동을 그대로 간직한채 인피니티 워를 보러 왔는데, 인피니티 워의 감독은 블랙팬서를 전혀 모른채 인피니티 워를 만든것. ㅋㅋ 이런 현상이 페이즈4에서는 더욱 가속화됩니다. 가장 극명한 예시가 완다비전과 닥스2에서 발생했다고 생각하는데, 1 완다비전에서 처음으로 다크홀드가 등장하고 2 완다가 완다비전에서 다크홀드를 얻으면서 그안의 흑마법을 익히면서 점차 빌런이 되어 닥스2의 메인 빌런이 되는데 3 닥터 스트레인지2를 만드는 샘 레이미는 완다비전에서 다크홀드를 어떻게 얻게 되는지도 모른채 다크홀드를 얻고 빌런이된 완다를 데리고 닥스2를 감독해야하며, 4 완다비전의 연출자인 맷 샤크먼은 닥스2를 만드는 샘 레이미가 다크홀드를 어떤 책으로 설정할 계획인지, 다크홀드 안에는 어떤 마법이 담겨있다고 설정할 계획인지를 모른채 완다비전을 만들게되는 겁니다. 닥스2 개봉을 앞둔 팬들은 '제가 완다비전을 보고 닥스2를 보고가야하나요? 아니면 안보고 가도 괜찮나요?' '저 디즈니 플러스 구독해야하나요?' 같은 질문과 답글을 인터넷에 올리며 닥스2를 기다리고 있는데 각본 / 촬영 / 편집 / CG / 배급 이라는 제작 순서와 개봉 일정상, 닥스2를 촬영해야하는 제작진이 사전에 완다비전의 정보를 제공받을 방법이란 아예 부재한겁니다. 근데 이건 완다비전을 만드는 제작진 입장에서도 마찬가집니다. 완다비전을 만드는 맷 샤크먼은 완다비전에서 새로 생겨난 설정들을 닥스2 제작진이 어떻게 이어갈 계획인지 전혀 알수 없는 상태에서 완다비전 제작을 마무리해야 하는 겁니다. 그럼 이 드라마 / 영화에 같이 출연하는 엘리자베스 올슨은 도움이 될수 있을까요? 천만에요. 올슨 역시 주연배우중 한사람일 뿐입니다. 올슨은 본인이 본 대본이나, 본인이 촬영한 여러 씬들중에서 감독인 맷 샤크먼이 어떤 부분을 잘라낼지, 어떤 부분을 선택해서 방송에 집어넣을지 모르며 실제로 감독은 A설정에 따른 장면, B설정에 따른 장면 두개를 따놓았다가 나중에 장면 두개중 한개를 버리고 다른 한개만 취하거나 아예 두장면 모두를 날려버리는 경우도 흔할뿐 아니라, 어떤 부분이 CG단계에서 변하게 되며 어떤 부분이 얼마나 추가 촬영이 필요해질지 같은 정보는 올슨이 비록 주연배우라 할지라도 이런 정보를 사전에 알수는 없습니다. '완다비전은 이런식으로 촬영했었는데요?' 라는 정보를 닥스2감독인 샘 레이미 에게 전달한다 한들 자기가 촬영에 참여한 그 씬이 실제로 완다비전 방영분에 사용된다는 보장이 없으니, 이런 이유로, 실제로 완다비전에는 애거사 하크니스와 다크홀드를 둘러싼 여러 씬들이 촬영되었지만 닥스2에 다크홀드가 어떻게 활용될지 알수없었던 제작진이 애거사와 다크홀드사이에 벌어진 일들, 그리고 쌍둥이와 피에트로가 다크홀드를 둘러싸고 벌이는 에피소드들이 담긴 촬영분을 거의 사용하지 못하고 대부분을 버리게 됩니다. 그러다보니 닥스2와 완다비전에 등장하는 다크홀드에 대한 묘사가 매우 다릅니다. 닥스2에 나오는 닥터 스트레인지는 명색이 지구 최고의 마법사인데 다크홀드의 마법을 익힌 완다에게 1합을 채 겨루지 못하고 발립니다. 그렇다면 완다비전에서는 역시 다크홀드의 마법을 익힌 애거사 하크니스에게 완다 역시 거의 반항하지 못하고 발렸느냐 하면 그건 또 그러치 안치... 또다른 예로, 닥스2에서 다크홀드를 가진 완다는 다크홀드를 획득한 그 즉시 멀티버스 여기저기를 쑤시고 다니기 시작했지만 완다비전에서 기존에 다크홀드를 소지했던 애거사 하크니스는 전혀 멀티버스를 헤집고 다니지 않았습니다. 아니, 사실 멀티버스 얘기는 완다비전에 1도 등장하지 않았었어...... 킹히려 노웨이홈에서는 멀티버스 개념이 있었지만 완다비전은 멀티버스와 완전 무관한 작품이었음... 근데 닥스2에서 다크홀드를 획득하는 1 완다 막시모프 / 2 시니스터 스트레인지 / 3 슈프림 스트레인지는 모두 다크홀드의 마법을 사용해서 가장 먼저 하는 일이 1 평행세계의 아메리카 차베즈를 납치 시도 2 평행세계의 크리스틴 팔머와 이어지려함 3 평행세계를 배회하며 타노스를 무찌를 방법을 연구 얘들은 다크홀드를 손에 쥐자마자 제일 먼저 찾는게 멀티버스인데 애거사 하크니스는... 암것도 안해쓰요... 블랙팬서/인피니티워의 경우에서 보듯 영화가 1년에 세개씩 나오던 페이즈3에서도 이런 현상은 생겼을지언정 어찌어찌 버틸수 있는 수준이었지 싶어요. '영화가 훌륭하면 모두 용서된다'정신이 발휘 가능한 상황. 하지만 페이즈4에 가면서 부터는 일년에 영화 4개 + 드라마 3개 같은 정줄놓은 제작환경이 깔리다보니 이건 멀티버스라는 소재가 문제가 아니고 제작환경이 문제 아니었을지... 저 개인에게도 완다비전은 별로 재밌는 드라마가 아니었거든요. 예전 MCU 시절에는 기본적으로 영화관에서 한번보고, 넷플릭스 올라오면 한번 더보고 그랬었는데 킹직히 디즈니플러스 시절부터는 그런거 완전 없었음. ㅋㅋ 그러다가 요번에 애거사 올 얼롱 보면서 이 드라마가 은근 재밋길래 전작에 해당하는 완다비전을 한번 다시 봐볼까 해서 봤더니 역시 1회차에는 전혀 이해할수 없었던 장면들이 2회차에는 쏙쏙 이해가 되면서 '아 이게 이런 장면인데 관객이 전혀 이해못했을법하네.'
