조성진이 5년에 한번씩 열리는 International FRYDERYK CHOPIN Piano Competition에서 우승하였습니다. 이로써 조성진은 국내 피아니스트들 중에서 가장 좋은 콩쿨 입상 커리어([2009년 하마마쓰 콩쿠르 우승, 2011년 차이코프스키 콩쿠르 3위, 2014년 루빈스타인 콩쿠르 3위, 2015년 쇼팽 콩쿠르 우승])를 달성하게 되었습니다. 이번콩쿨에서 제가 개인적으로 기대하고 있었던 3인중 George Li는 2015 차이코프스키 콩쿠르 2위에 입상, 문지영은 2015 부조니 콩쿨 우승으로 쇼팽 본선을 포기해서 다소 아쉬웠지만 응원했던 조성진이 우승해서 정말 기쁘네요. 조성진의 이번 콩쿠르의 프로그램 구성은 다음과 같습니다. 예선 Nocturne in C minor Op.48 No.1, Fantasy in F minor Op.49, Mazurka in B minor Op.33 No.4, Etude in A flat major Op.10 No.10, Etude in A minor Op.10 No.2, Etude in C major Op.10 No.1 본선 1라운드 Nocturne in C minor Op.48 No.1, Etude in A flat major Op.10 No.10, Etude in C major Op.10 No.1, Fantasy in F minor Op.49 본선 2라운드 Ballade in F major Op.38, Waltz in F major Op.34 No.3, Sonata in B flat minor Op.35, Polonaise in A flat major Op.53 본선 3라운드 24Preludes Op.28, 3Mazukas Op.33, Scherzo in B flat minor Op.31 파이널 Piano Concerto in E minor Op. 11 이중 압권은 본선 2라운드였습니다. 마치 나는 우승을 위해 이 경연에 나왔다는 자신감이 느껴지는 프로그램 구성이었습니다. 3라운드 연주 시간이 더 길기때문에 대개의 연주자들은 소나타를 3라운드에 구성하는데 비해 조성진은 2라운드에서 압도적인 퍼포먼스를 보여주면서 청중과 심사위원들에게 강한 이미지를 심어주는데 성공한 것 같습니다. 파이널 피아노 협주곡도 첫순서임에도 불구하고 오케스트라와의 완벽한 호흡을 자랑하며 성공적인 연주를 했습니다. 이번 우승을 기점으로 마우리치오 폴리니, 마르타 아르헤리치, 크리스티안 짐머만 등 쇼팽콩쿠르 우승을 한 세계적 거장의 반열에 오를 수 있기를 진심으로 기원합니다. 마지막으로 제가 이번 콩쿠르에서 가장 감동하면서 들은 본선 2라운드 영웅 폴로네이즈 영상을 첨부하면서 글을 마칩니다. 이번 콩쿠르의 모든 연주 영상은 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSTXol20Q01Uj-U5Yp3IqFg/videos 이곳에서 보실 수 있습니다.
