'NFT'의 원리와 그 구성에 대한 측면을 바탕으로 기술한 글이였으므로 NFT 자체에 대한 물음이 있으신 분은 참조하시길 바라겠습니다. 참조하셨다는 전제하에, 글을 전개하기에 앞서서 간단히 NFT의 정의에 대해서 설명하겠습니다. NFT는 Non-fungible Token의 약자로, 대체불가능한 토큰이라는 뜻을 가지고 있는데 쉽게 이야기하면 하나의 데이터와 다른 데이터가 동등하지 않은 경우를 말합니다. 이해가 어렵다면 1달러짜리 지폐와 포켓몬 수집용 카드를 비교해보시면 됩니다. 1달러 지폐는 다른 1달러 지폐와 동등한 가치를 지니고, 상호 교환이 가능하지만 포켓몬 수집용 카드는 각기 다른 포켓몬이 기재되어있기에 모두 다른 가치를 지니고 있으며, 상호 교환이 불가능합니다. 이러한 매커니즘을 블록체인 기술을 통해 구현하였다고 보시면 되겠습니다. 똑똑한 선구자들에 의해 NFT는 '디지털 자산화'의 도구로 활용되었습니다. COPY AND PASTE가 자유로운 디지털 세상에서 '원본'과 '복사본'을 구분하는 것을 가능케하기 때문인데요. 혹자는 그게 무슨 의미가 있냐라고 물음을 지닐 수 있지만 그 부분은 '주목경제'와 '생산비용과 가치'에 대한 경제학적인 설명을 통해서 이미 해결 되었습니다. 관심 있으시면 찾아보시길 바라고요. 추후에 기회가 되면, 관련해서도 글을 써보도록 하겠습니다. 본 글은 이러한 [NFT의 가치]에 대한 물음이 해결되었다는 것을 전제하에(실제로도 거래량을 보시면 이해하실 수 있을 것입니다), NFT가 암호화폐 생태계에 미치는 영향에 대한 관점에서 기술하겠습니다. 최근 암호화폐(주로 암호자산이라 불리고 있지만 본 글에서는 통화내지 화폐로 이야기하겠습니다) 생태계에는 주요한 몇 가지 변화가 있습니다. 그 중에서 주목할만한 것이라면 '디파이(DeFi)'가 있습니다. Decentralized Finance의 약자인 Defi는 말그대로 탈중화된 금융에 관한 이야기입니다. 그 속에는 많은 고민과 토론이 있었겠지만, 핵심만 말하자면 '암호화폐를 활용한 금융거래'라 보시면 되겠습니다. 암호화폐(비트코인,이더리움 등등)를 기반으로 예금.대출등의 금융거래를 실현하는 것입니다. 이러한 과정을 통해 우리는 국가가 발행한 통화를 배제하고 '암호화폐'만을 이용하여 금융생활을 영위할 수 있게 됩니다. 그렇다고 뭐 당장 편의점에서 비트코인으로 구매할 수 있다는 이야기는 아니고요. 일반적으로 현재는 암호화폐를 통한 자산증식.대출등의 거래를 실현하려면 국가통화로의 환전과정이 필요한데요.예를 들어 1비트코인을 가지고 있다고 했을 때, 이를 예금하여 이자를 받거나, 대출을 받기위한 담보로 삼거나, 신용거래를 일으키기 위해선 이를 통화(원화,엔화,달러화,위안화 등)로 환전하고 금융거래를 해야하는 불편함내지 불완전함이 있는데, 이를 해결하는 방법이라 보시면 되겠습니다, 환전 필요없이 비트코인만으로 예금하여 이자를 받거나(이 경우 1비트코인이 1년후에 1.01비트코인이 될 수 있겠죠?) 비트코인을 담보로 다른 코인을 대출받는 것이죠. 이처럼 DeFi를 필두로, 최근 암호화폐 생태계에서 일어나고 있는 일은 암호경제의 활성화로 볼 수 있겠습니다. 다만, 여기서 문제점이 있는데요. 바로 암호화폐를 갖고 있더라도, 이를 통해 구매할 수 있는 '자산'이 없다는 점인데요. 제가 암호자산이라 불리는 것들을 암호'화폐'라 칭한 것도 그러한 관점에서 정의한 것입니다.'화폐'에는 여러 가지 특징이 있겠지만 대표적으로는 일종의 교환의 매개체, 'medium'이 될 수 있어야 할텐데요. 암호화폐로 교환할만한 '자산'이 없다면 그것을 '화폐'라 부를 수 없겠지요. 저는 이러한 문제점을 해결할 수단으로서 'NFT'를 꼽는 것입니다. 윗 문단에서 NFT를 '디지털 자산화'의 도구로 활용하고 있다고 언급했습니다. NFT는 기본적으로 암호화폐 네트워크(메인넷)위에서 동작하는 기술로, NFT화된 파일(예술품,음악,동영상,가상 부동산 등)들은 주로 암호화폐를 통해 거래되는데요(이더리움,클레이튼 등) 물론 USDC,T등의 스테이블 코인을 기반으로 신용카드 결제를 통해서도 구입할 수도 있지만 대부분 암호화폐로 거래되고 있다고 보시면 되겠습니다. 감이 오시나요? 'NFT'는 '디지털 자산화'의 도구이고, 이들은 '암호화폐'를 통해 결제됩니다. 즉 '암호화폐'를 '국가통화'로 환전하지 않고, '디지털 자산'을 구매할 수 있다는 것입니다. 암호화폐는 그러한 매개체, medium이 되는 것이고요. 진정한 '화폐'로 거듭나는 순간입니다. 디지털 자산인 'NFT'의 가치변동에 따라 소유자의 암호화폐 보유량이 변동하게 됩니다. 일상에서 원화를 주식으로 또는 부동산으로 교환하였을 때 벌어지는 일과 동일하죠? NFT의 등장으로 인해 암호화폐를 통한 '자산거래'가 가능해졌으며 이는 암호화폐 생태계의 활성화에 있어 매우 중요한 부분이 되는 것이지요. 따라서 '암호화폐의 흥행'과 'NFT의 성장'은 일종의 상호보완적인 관계를 가지게 되는 것입니다. NFT가 성장할수록 암호화폐의 가치 및 유통성이 개선되는 것이고, 암호화페가 성장할수록 NFT 또한 그 가치를 더욱 인정받게 되는 것입니다. 이러한 상호보완적인 관계는 특히 '메타버스' 가 도입되면 더욱 빛을 발하게 되는데요. '메타버스 세계'에 있어서 NFT의 중요성은 이루 말할 것이 없고(메타버스는 디지털 세계이고, 디지털 세계를 살아가려면 그러한 가상에서의 자산에 대한 소유 및 거래가 가능해야하고, 이 것을 NFT가 해결해주겠죠?) 이러한 NFT의 도입은 암호화폐의 유통량을 크게 늘릴 것입니다. 이러한 유통량의 증가는 경제에서 암호화폐가 담당하는 포션을 늘릴 것이고요. 암호화폐만으로 금융거래가 가능하고, 디지털 자산 가치 변화로 인한 암호화폐 보유량 증가는 사람들로 하여금 암호화폐를 사용하도록 하는 주요 요인으로 작용하여 해당 생태계로의 참여를 더더욱 가속화할 것 입니다. DeFi의 등장과 NFT의 활성화는 이처럼 암호화폐 보유 동기를 마련해줄 뿐만 아니라, 암호화폐(만)를 이용한 금융생활 영위를 가능토록 합니다. 비록 지금은 걸음마 단계에 놓여있고, 메타버스,VR 등의 기술 또한 성숙하지 못하였지만 이러한 기술이 특이점을 넘는 순간 매우빠른 속도로 보급되고 자리잡을 것으로 기대하고 있습니다.
