먼저, 채은성이 부상을 당하지 않아서 다행입니다. 앞으로 비슷한 위험한 장면이 줄어들었으면 합니다. 오늘 잠실 두산vsLG 경기에서 심판은 홈 충돌 방지법을 근거로 끝내기 세이프 판정을 내렸습니다. 특히 어떤 기사에서는 "홈 충돌방지 규정에 따르면 글러브 태그로만 상대 주자의 몸을 터치할 수 있다. 양의지가 다리로 먼저 채은성을 막아 진로방해가 적용, 세이프 판정이 난 것이다." 이런 문구도 있더군요. 그런데, 홈 충돌 방지법을 여러번 읽어봤는데 저는 세이프 판정의 근거를 잘 찾지 못했습니다. 사실 처음에는 '이게 왜 세이프냐? 규정에 근거가 하나도 없는데?' 이렇게 쓸라고 했습니다. 그래서 규정을 계속 찾아보니 '혹시 이거 때문에 세이프인가?' 싶은거 하나가 보이긴 하네요. 그래도 속 시원하게 해소된건 아니고... 먼저 관련 규정을 읊어 드립니다. ------------- 7.13(b) 포수는 자신이 공을 갖고 있는 경우를 제외하고는 득점을 시도하는 주자의 주로를 막을 수 없다. 만약 심판의 판단으로 공을 갖고 있지 않은 포수가 주로를 막는 경우, 심판은 주자에게 세이프를 선언한다. 상기에도 불구하고, 포수가 송구를 받으려는 정당한 시도과정(예를 들어, 홈 방면 송구의 방향·궤도·바운드에 대한 반응으로, 또는 투수나 내야 안쪽으로 들어온 내야수가 던진 송구에 대한 반응으로)에서 주자의 주로를 막게 되는 경우는 본 규칙 7.13(b)의 위반으로 간주되지 아니한다. 또한, 주자가 슬라이딩을 통해 포수(혹은 홈 커버 선수)와의 충돌을 피할 수 있었던 경우는, 포수가 공을 갖고 있지 않더라도 본 규칙 7.13(b)를 위반했다고 판정되지 아니한다. [주] 포수가 공을 갖고 있지 않은 채로 (혹은 송구를 포구하려는 정당한 시도 과정이 아닌 상태에서) 홈을 막고, 그와 동시에 득점을 시도하는 주자의 주루를 방해 또는 저지하지 않는다면, 포수는 규칙 7.13(b)를 위반했다고 간주되지 않는다. 포수가 홈플레이트를 봉쇄했지만, 심판의 판단으로 주자가 원래 아웃이 될 상황이었다면 포수가 해당 주자의 주루를 방해 또는 저지했다고 간주되지 아니한다. 또한, 포수는 슬라이딩을 시도하는 주자를 태그할 때 불필요한 강제 접촉을 피하기 위한 최선을 노력을 다해야 한다. 슬라이딩을 시도하는 주자와 불필요한 강제 접촉(예를 들어, 무릎·정강이 보호대, 팔꿈치, 전완 등을 이용하여 시도하는 접촉)을 상습적으로 하는 포수는 총재에 의해 제재를 받을 수 있다. 본 규칙 7.13(b)는 홈에서의 포스 플레이에는 적용되지 아니한다. ------------- 그럼 다시, 하나씩 판정 근거가 될만한 경우의 수를 짚어보겠습니다. (1) 공은 갖고 있는가 홈 충돌 방지법에서 계속 강조되는 것은 '포수가 공을 갖고 있는지' 여부입니다. 앞서 KBO에서 논란이 된 사례들은(LG-삼성전 등) 포수가 송구를 받는 과정에서, 공을 받기 전 주로를 점유한 것에서 논란이 촉발됐습니다. 하지만 오늘 장면을 유심히 보면, 양의지가 오른 발을 내딛기 전에 공을 먼저 잡았다는 게 보입니다. 그렇다면 '공이 없는 상황에서 접촉을 했기 때문에 규정 위반'은 아니겠네요. (2) 주루 방해인가 그렇다면 일반적인 주루 방해로 볼 수는 없는 건가? 야구 규칙에서 주루 방해의 정의는 이렇습니다. ------------- 2.51 OBSTRUCTION (업스트럭션·주루방해) - 공을 갖고 있지 않거나 공을 처리하고 있지 않은 야수가 주자의 주루를 방해하는 행위이다. (7.06(a), (b)) [원주] "야수가 공을 처리하고 있다"는 것은 야수가 송구를 받기 직전이거나, 야수가 직접 자기를 향해 가까이 날아오고 있는 송구를 받기 위해 적당한 위치를 확보하는 것을 말한다. 야수가 공을 처리하고 있는지 아닌지는 오로지 심판원의 판단에 따른다. 야수가 공을 처리하려다가 실패한 뒤에는 더 이상 공을 처리하고 있는 것으로 보지 않는다. 예를 들어 내야수가 땅볼을 잡으려고 몸을 날렸으나 포구하지 못하여 공이 통과했다. 그럼에도 불구하고 그라운드에 드러누워 주자의 진루를 지연시켰을 경우 그 야수는 주루방해를 한 것이 된다. ------------- 일단 양의지는 공을 들고 있었습니다. 그렇다면 오른쪽 다리를 내린게 '공을 처리하고 있지 않은', 즉 필딩 과정이 아닌데 주루를 방해했다고 봐야할까요? 심판원의 판단에 달리긴 했지만, 과거 사례를 보면 그건 아닌 것 같습니다.  위 장면은 6년전 한국시리즈에서 1루 견제가 아웃 판정이 되는 장면입니다. 비슷하게 누상으로 향하는 주자의 길을 발로 막았지만 주루방해 콜이 되지 않았습니다.  그리고 위 한국시리즈 장면과 비슷한 2013년 메이저리그 경기 장면입니다. 마찬가지로 1루 견제과정에서 다리로 길이 막혔는데, 논란이 있긴 했지만 정상 수비 판정이 났습니다. 심판의 결정에 최종 판정을 맡기는 상황에선 보통 과거 사례가 결정의 중요한 지침으로 작용합니다. 그래서 저는 오늘 장면이 일반적인 주루방해, 업스트럭션도 아닌 것 같습니다. 홈 충돌 방지법 끝에 '불필요한 접촉을 최대한 피하라'는 문구가 있긴 한데요. 이건 어겼을 때 경기 내에서 제재를 한다는 얘기는 없습니다. 물론 더 심하게 총재가 제재할 수 있다는 얘기가 있긴 합니다. (3) 글러브로 태그를 안해서? 아뇨. 홈 충돌 방지법에는 글러브의 '글'자도 나와있지 않습니다. 이건 명백한 기자의 오보라고 봐야할 것 같네요. (4) 마지막 가능성? 규정 7.13(b)의 주석에 이런 내용이 있습니다. "포수가 공을 갖고 있지 않은 채로 (혹은 송구를 포구하려는 정당한 시도 과정이 아닌 상태에서) 홈을 막고, 그와 동시에 득점을 시도하는 주자의 주루를 방해 또는 저지하지 않는다면, 포수는 규칙 7.13(b)를 위반했다고 간주되지 않는다." 저 부분을 해석하면, ① 공을 잡으려는 과정이 아닌데 ② 홈을 막고 ③ 득점하려는 주자를 방해한다면 -> 규칙 7.13(b)를 위반한 것으로 간주한다. 이렇게 볼 수도 있는 거겠죠. 이걸 오늘 상황에 대입하면, '양의지는 포구 과정이 아닌데 불필요하게 홈을 막고 득점을 방해했으므로, 규칙 위반' 이렇게 되겠네요. (5) 걱정되는 것 하나 그런데 이런 해석을 하게 되면 찝찝한 부분이 생깁니다. 일단 '정당한'이라는 단어에서 우려가 생깁니다. 저 단어는 MLB 규정 원문으로는 'legitimate'가 됩니다(KBO 신설 규정은 MLB 규정을 그대로 번역한 것입니다). 보통 야구 규정집에서는 '상식적인', '일반적인' 정도의 뉘앙스를 띕니다. 그렇다면 저 규정, 저 괄호 안의 문구는 '상식적으로 포구 과정이 아닌데 길을 막으면' 정도로 다시 해석이 가능할 겁니다. 오늘 양의지의 플레이가 상식적인 범주의 것이라고 생각하진 않습니다. 사실 좀... 많이 위험천만하긴 했습니다. 하지만 저 문구를 포구 이후의 (평범하진 않지만) 블로킹 상황에 대입해버린 것은 KBO 심판들의 앞으로의 판정에 나쁜 선례가 될 수도 있다는 우려가 생깁니다. 일단 KBO 심판들이 규정을 오락가락 적용한 일이 한 두번이 아니니까요. 자칫 잘못 확대해석하면, 오늘보다 더 '상식적'으로 보일 수 있는 블로킹 장면에서도 위 문구를 들어서 세이프 판정을 내릴 수도 있다는 생각이 듭니다. (6) 걱정되는 것 둘 위에도 말했지만 이 기사를 보니까, 이런 문구가 나옵니다. "홈 충돌방지 규정에 따르면 글러브 태그로만 상대 주자의 몸을 터치할 수 있다. 양의지가 오른 다리로 먼저 채은성을 막아 진로방해가 적용, 세이프 판정이 난 것이다." 규정을 한 열번 읽어봤는데 글러브의 '글' 자도 보이지 않습니다. 저번 홈 충돌 논란 때도 그렇고... 솔직히 심판들이 규정을 제대로 숙지하고는 있는건가?라는 생각이 계속 듭니다. 심판들 얘기를 받아적는 기자들도 제대로 알고 있는건가 싶네요. KBO 규정은 MLB 규정을 그대로 긁어왔습니다. 단순히 보고 다시 쓴 정도가 아니라 원문을 그대로 번역해서 써왔습니다. 문장 순서까지. 'Nonetheless'가 '상기에도 불구하고'라는 말로 그대로 살아있기도 하고... 그렇다면 MLB에서 있었던 각종 논란은 재연되지 않아야 정상 아닐까요? 그냥 긁어온 것도 아니고, 각종 논란 때문에 개정된 2015년 규정을 긁어온 것입니다. 이런저런 논란을 막기 위해 바뀐 것을 가져왔는데, 그 이런저런 논란이 왜 또 반복되는 걸까요. 쓸데없는 사건사고가 계속 일어날 것 같아서 걱정스럽고, 한심하고 그러네요. 저도 이거 리플레이를 좀 돌려봤는데... 심판은 포수의 다리로 주자의 홈으로 슬라이딩하는 다리를 포수의 다리를 통한 강제접촉으로 슬라이딩을 지연시킨 후에 태그를 했다고 본 것 같습니다.
다시 말해서, 심판이 포수의 다리가 주자의 길목을 막아 홈플레이트에 닿는 것을 최대한 늦추고 먼저 태그를 했다고 본 듯합니다.
이때, 포수인 양의지가 포구 이후 착지 위치에 고의성이 있었다고 본 것 같네요.
개인적으로 이 판정은 심판이 잘했다고 생각합니다. 부상때문에 홈 충돌 규정을 신설했는데, 이런걸 봐주면 안되죠.

① 공을 잡으려는 과정이 아닌데
② 홈을 막고
③ 득점하려는 주자를 방해한다면
-> 규칙 7.13(b)를 위반한 것으로 간주한다.
그런데 다시 생각해보니, 규정 주석 괄호 안의 [혹은 송구를 포구하려는 정당한 시도 과정이 아닌 상태에서] 이 문구는,
\'[상식적인] 포구 과정에서 길을 막은 거라면, 규정 위반이 아님.\'
이렇게 앞의 \'상식적인\'이란 부연을 위해서 붙은 것으... 더 보기
