무기력증 같은 걸 얘기하는 게 아니라, 정말 살면서 '하고 싶다' 내지 '해야 겠다'는 생각이 들어본 적이 극히 드무네요. 우울증세가 있었을 땐 그 일환이라고 생각했었는데, 우울감이 좋아지고 나서도 여전하고요. 어느 정도냐면 학업도 직업활동도 취미에도 사람간의 교류까지 전부 흥미가 없고, 아니 나아가 왜 세상 사람들이 저런 것들에 몰두하는지 솔직히 납득이 잘 안될 정도라서요. 그렇다고 식충이는 아니고 최소한의 생활비랑 월세를 벌기는 하고 또 거기서 불성실한 것도 아닌데, 그게 이십대 후반인 지금까지도 아르바이트 이상 가는 의지가 없네요. 정말 드물게 연락이 닿는 옛날 친구들은 벌써 연차가 꽤 쌓인 애도 있고 그게 아니라도 최소한 취준생답게 바쁘게 사는 듯한데 그런 걸 보면 자괴감이나 열등감이 들기 앞서 딴 세상 사람 같다는 느낌이 먼저 들고요. 물론 머리로는 걔들이 정상이고 제가 비정상인 걸 알고 있긴 하지만요. 저도 일단 외부에는 공무원 준비하는 걸로 알려져 있긴 한데요, 솔직히 제대로 펴본적도 없고 해야될 이유도 못찾겠어요. 급여는 액수를 떠나 별 유인도 안되고, 태생적으로 거부감이 있는 조직사회에, 합격의 난이도까지 생각하면 경제성이 너무 떨어져서요. 편의점 알바 8시간하고 집에와서 아무 방해없이 뒹굴대는 지금 상태를 버릴 가치가 있는건지. 안정성이라는 뜬구름 잡는 장점 말고는 말이에요. 생각해보면 저는 생산직에 보다 맞는 거 같긴 합니다. 근데 그건 또 아무나 되나요. 아무나 할 수 있을진 모르지만 제조업은 사그라들 일만 남았고 때문에 근무환경이나 급여조건도 공무원은 커녕 지금 상태 이하일 확률이 높잖아요. 지금 상태를 떨칠 유인은 역시 없음. 다만 지금 마음이 무거운 건 이렇게 말할 수 있는 유통기한도 얼마 남지 않았다는 걸 깨닫고 있긴 해서요. 관심도 없는 공무원 준비생 코스프레하는 것도 이제 피곤하고. 제가 게으르고 안이하단 걸 부정하진 않아요. 세상이나 부모님이 알아서 해주겠지 같은 생각도 하지 않고. 그런데 대체 어떻게 정신적 메커니즘이 발달했길래 남들과 같은 식으로 자라지 않고 몇 년 안에 길바닥에서 얼어죽어도 이상하지 않을 생각을 갖게 된건지, 궁금하다고 해야할지 착잡하다고 해야할지 아무튼 심란하네요. 가끔 인터넷에서 저랑 비슷한, 그러니까 무직에 나이는 차는데 학력이나 스펙도 없는 사람들이 상담글을 올리는 걸 보는데 그런데 달리는 답변은 진짜 건질게 더 없거든요. '나는 더 열악한 상황이었는데 지금 그럭저럭 먹고 산다' '세상 쉽지 않다' '게으른 거 남탓하지 마라' '노후대비는 어쩌시려구' 등등.. 뭐 잘났다 자랑하려는 것도 아니고 누가 그걸 몰라서 이러는 줄 아나..알아요, 아는데, 그걸 안다고 하고 싶다거나 해야 되겠다는 생각이 드는 게 아니라니깐. 여러분 그러니까 이해안된다, 왜 그렇게 사냐까지는 괜찮은데 이런 식으로 잘못됐다는 듯 책망하진 말아주세요. 요즘엔 걍 이렇게 도태되다가 적당한 때에 죽는게 나도 좋고 세상도 좋은 그림 아닌가 하는 생각도 드네요. 이걸 자살 충동이라고 해야 하나 말아야 하나..
